It is a shame but both parties work this way. Most Americans identify themselves as being moderate but it is the far right and left who determine who the candidates are.

It is why we got Bush instead of McCain in 2000. It is why McCain has turned himself into a Stepford Republican this time. It is why the Democrats have a habit of nominating people like Kerry.

I agree with others that it is a shame that too many people vote based on one issue alone and especially the case when the issue is really a non issue. I have lived in the Midwest most of my life and I use to laugh at all the cars that would have pro union, Republican and NRA bumper stickers on them and these people would vote Republican for the only reason was they thought Democrats would take away their right to have guns. Now when I see or hear this I am sad about it.

Too many zealot one issue voters in all the parties unfortunately. I like Rudi a lot and currently think/hope that because of what King George has done that the Republican Party might look for a more moderate candidate to run so they have a shot at keeping the executive branch but I realize for them to admit to anything of this nature is just crazy talk.

Rudy has a lot of hurdles to leap in a republican primary, of which the prochoice position is one. If he can convince the right that he will oppose expansion of Roe and nominate acceptable ( boy thats a loose term as most of the past nominee's have turned out less than reliable lol) to them, he has a shot. A lot of leeway will be given to him as NYC and NY in general is seen as a quasi socialist state in the party. So in order to win here, especially in the city, we cut you some slack.
His best bet would be to choose a very conservative running mate.
But his personal issues leave a lot to be desired, and its going to be exposed in the campaigns.
Its the biggest reason to find another candidate, who needs to hear about that for the next 18 months..

Dude, if you're FOR Rudy, you don't know anything about Rudy.

It begins with the Pope hating him for being a pretend catholic while committing adultery, and being pretty damn unrepentant about it, too.

So, if he will lie to his priest, who won't he lie to?

Fuck the pope:  when that punk becomes an american citizen then he can express his opinion about who we elect to be the boss for the next four years.  Until then his opinion is nothing but noise.
