I have been researching the use of condoms during safe oral sex. Most sources encourage condom use (ultra thin, unlubricated, unribbed) and lubricant use. However, I haven’t seen any specifics….brands, for example. Therefore, I am seeking some real world information.

Gentlemen, if you have had receiving experience in this area, do you have a preference for a particular condom? Fellow Fellatists (of all ilks), have you a preference for a particular condom and/or lubricant?

I hope that this thread does not get mired down in a discussion of why it is more fun to give head without a condom….we all know that already! Ungloved head is not an option in this case.

My preference was for flavored condoms - specifically strawberry flavored condoms. Trying to give a blow job with a lubricated condom just always left a bitter taste in my mouth personally so if you can't find flavored ones at least go for the unlubricated ones.

Definately flavored but my advice is to avoid cheap ones if you can. I haven't had good experiences with them. Or you can put a flavored lube on top of the condom (just get a plain, no lube or spermicide one). Try Climax Fruitbomb in the Blue Razzberry flavor. I used to keep the bottle on my desk and put a bit of it my fingers to taste while I was writing papers. It's like candy!

There are some really good flavored ones out there. I think lifestyles is the brand, they make strawberry, banana, and my favorite, vanilla. The vanilla one is really mild and will not make you gag from an overwhelming artificial flavor (the way strawberry kind of does.) You should be able to find these at a normal drug store like walgreens but try your local adult novelty place for some other options (I've seen mint and chocolate.) I prefer these flavored ones to non-lubricated cause then you end up just tasting the latex.

I hate them personally. I can't get off with them at all. I use 'em until the test results get back.

I'd like to apply a little 'search-foo' to this question. (Okay, call me a research whore.)

Wikipedia has come a long way, and I suggest everyone book mark that puppy. There isn't much it doesn't cover.

Logically speaking, the use of the thinnest condom is preferred. Based on what I've found...

Lambskin is OUT. Period. It'll keep the little soldiers from invading, but that's all it does. It's porous enough for all STDs.
Also, for general edification, Lambskin is actually sheep intestine. I've used it a few times. Wonderful sensations. It might be useful for other applications if STDs are not a valid concern.

Latex is the most popular, about 0.049mm thick, comes in a wide variety of flavors, sizes, colors, etc. Most are electronically tested. Good barrier against STDs. I don't recommend the lubed ones, considering most of those have spermicides (read: chemicals) that aren't meant to be ingested. Dry ones are best for oral activity, if you're not allergic to latex. However, lubed ones have interesting possibilities for oral play, considering the foul taste involved, but as I said, we're dealing with chemicals.

Polyurethane is more expensive, about 0.02mm thick, but is more likely to slip or break. See above about lubes.

Now, here's the skinny on what's being worked on, but not available...

Invisible condom is a gel that hardens when it warms up in a body cavity, like the vagina or anus. It breaks down and liquefies after a few hours. It promising in blocking STDs. However, it's still in trials in Canada.

Spray-on condom is interesting, developed in Germany and being test marketed. It's sprayed on and five seconds later, a condom like a second skin. Funny part is, you can't stick it in your wallet. The erect penis is inserted into the aerosol can, push a button and you're covered. lol

If I had a choice? I'd try the Poly condom, dry.

plus there's kinda a fun humiliation happening with being forced to suck a condom covered cock....especially sans flavor...
I suppose if you're careful, aseptic technique can be maintained....
My very very very first Dominant had me do it that way (he left out the humiliation overtones). Looking waaaaay back then, I was too ignorant to do it for my own good, makes me wonder if he was more interested in protecting me or himself.

There are a lot of arguments regarding that, azz. The stomach acid is besides the point.

A mouth gets damaged all the time; a meal, nervous chewing of the cheek, brushing your teeth, cavities, smoking, drinking, chapped lips and so on. The saliva has some acid properties, but it's negligible. A Listerine rinse or strip might offer some protection, but like anything else, you have to ask the question, "Are you 100% positive?"

I will say this: Evaluate your risks against the benefits, but be informed.

HIV meds tend to eat the wall of the stomach lining causing gastritis----> meds taken to conteract/give relief from gastritis are known as antacids ----> which, when take, may lead to mal-absorption of medications, such as one for HIV.

Ever noticed your antibiotic script bottle directs "do NOT take milk with this medication?" Milk also interfers with the absorption of many antibiotics.

I had to revist this tonight casue it was such wrong and incorrect information !!
