as far as suggestive power, the kitchen is definitely more suggestive.  but the bedroom is more appealing, because the addition of your face conveys personality.as well as sex appeal.

(my initial avatar was a self-portrait sans makeup...and frankly, I felt like the ugly girl on the block, so eventually I caved into my own vanity and started posting more attractive ones!)

Ok,

My opinion which is no doubt worth every cent
you are paying for it.

I think it appears that you have a better figure
in the "kitchen " shot.  Your waist is more
distinct, and the swell of your breast is obvious
without being tacky.  FH can tell you men notice
these things.  With your head turned and an over
the shoulder smile it could be terrific.

The "bedroom" shot washes out to be less distinct
on my monitior.  And there is an elegance about the
dress and room that is not reflected in the pose.
But the elegant lady becoming playful is a nice dynamic.

And I want to officially vote for Tempting's eyes.

As the late Chick Hearn would say when an NBA
official made a questionable call; the mod who made
that call needs a saliva test.

outlier,

Read your post, and your profile.

Based on just those, your opinion is worth a lot to me.  I absolutely loved your profile.  Much of it could have been written by me.  Glad I got to treasure before she had a chance to read your profile!

I agree with your above quoted observations.  Since treasure didn't particular like that photo, I told her pretty much exactly the same thing about it.

I sincerely wish you the best in your search.  The women who are really interested in the "dom of their life" should drop you a note.

FirmhandKY,

Obviously I owe you at least a thank you.

If there is one thing that has always been consistent
about Treasure's photo's it is that they have all been elegant.

So now you have your work cut out for you.  You are just
going to have to help her pick out some elegant clothing and
start shooting pictures.  And help her take off the clothing and
try other clothing, all while valiantly manning the camera.  Only
leaving your post under the most strenuous of inducements.

This will be necessary so she can have the proper male perspective.
You poor man, the things we go through for our women.

I remember once going through a fabric store, seeing a cloth
and saying, "That would look great on you."  We bought it and
a pattern.  And I remember (very fondly) the sweat and strain
we just had to go through during the fittings to get it just right.

Sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
Have fun you lucky devil.

I think you are basically forced to use the first one (which is a nice picture by the way).

The second one has a serious flaw. Daisy Dukes? You have a fit body and are only 44 years old ... what's up with the G.H.A.Y. trashy-trash shorts? Get thee to a GAP, woman. [;)][;)]

Going to go with the current majority on this one. Despite the posed quality the bedroom pic says more to me. If you re-shot the kitchen one with a cheeky/coy look over the shoulder that would win without further discussion imho.

That would ruin it.  The appeal of the kitchen picture (and looking over her shoulder would be perfect) is the casual simplicity.  Daisy Dukes speak of a woman with more down to earth tastes and sensibilities, a woman who isn't going to spend an entire camping trip complaining about the dirt and might even (oh wonder of wonders) be perfectly comfortable baiting her own hook.

A picture speaks a thousand words, and the kitchen pic is about attitude and way of life, far more than about a very nice pair of legs making an ass of themselves.

If I were in the hunt, I'd be using the same pic for my primary because I think it's a fun avatar for the forums, but every other pic would be in jeans and set amidst a life of simple pleasures.

puella -> RE: The Suggestive Nature of Photos... (3/4/2007 7:48:30 AM)

Hello losttreasure,

I think both shots are great, for different reasons and to solicit different responses.

The first is the one I would personally choose for myself, as it shows your face.. which to me, shows you more as an entire person.

The second is very sexy, and would, I imagine, elicit a more focused sexual response.  It has no view of your face, and in my opinion, allows for a sort of  disconnection of you as a sexual object, instead of you, a beautiful woman who is also sexually attractive... if that makes any sense?

Aileen68 -> RE: The Suggestive Nature of Photos... (3/4/2007 7:54:59 AM)

I think you should pick the one that portrays how you view yourself.  They're both nice shots, but very different in the attitude and in the reactions received.  Which one is really you?  If you pick the one that is the most representative of who you really are then you'll find more compatible people drawn to it.

Exactly.  Smart, practical and, most importantly, not hung up on image and status symbols.  All things I find very attractive.

I guess we are getting to the root of the OP then, Caitlyn, how different people react to the 1000 words of a photo.  How durable are those $10 shorts going to be?  Does that even factor into the decision to buy them?  Jeans are supposed to be built tough.

I'll take substance over style, function over form, any day of the week.

Oh, I can sympathize with that one.  Though I'm not as bad as some, I can be very vain.  It's interesting to stop and think about why... and it's even more interesting to think about the differences in what men and women think is attractive.

Your opinion is very valuable, and I thank you.

I've been pleasantly surprised at what men do notice... of course, I shouldn't be; as you've said, FirmHandKY can tell me and has.

*laughs*  Yes... I suspect that FirmHandKY understands the heavy responsibility he has, and I'm forever grateful that he's willing to make the sacrifice and do what is necessary.

*sighs*  It can be hard, but sometimes sacrifices on my part are necessary... if he likes em short, he gets em short.  [:D]

Dirt, I can handle... but I will admit that baiting my own hook would require a concerted effort on my part.  I would do it and have... I can be very stubborn about not appearing "weak", but I don't like it.  You'll never know that unless I tell you, so it might appear to be confident and comfortable for me.

Just don't ask me to gut a fish!  I don't think I have enough savoir-faire to keep from making a face.  [:)]

FirmhandKY -> RE: The Suggestive Nature of Photos... (3/4/2007 8:57:36 AM)

I hardly need to post at all.  Rich is nailing my thoughts every time. [:D]

But, throwing a little gasoline on the fire ....

When treasure and I discussed the differences of the two photos, my primary focus was on how a man would preceive them - what unstated messages each would send to a man, and how what a man was looking for would effect how they reacted to each photo.

I do think each photo is a good photo, but for a man, there are two concepts that sum up the difference quite well, but not in a way most women might see (although some would - they've posted along these lines already).

The two different concepts for the two photos are "come fuck me" and "fuckable".

I'm pretty sure that Rich will instantly be able to distinguish which photo goes with which concept.  I'm not so sure most women will instinctually "get it", although intellectually I've no doubts that they can understand it.

And the terms aren't meant to be a crud commentary, but a summation of an inner drive on how men classify women.  It's part of our brutish nature to make the distinction, although many would deny it.  They are denying themselves if they do so, I think.

So ... which photo means "come fuck me" to a man, and which means "fuckable" and why?

FirmKY

Ah, Rich... you are getting to the root.  [:D]

Who we are and what we value will affect what we find attractive.  I think that it helps us better relate to one another if we dig down deep and understand what motivates us instinctively... on a primal level.

To assist in a discussion that FirmHandKY and I are having (and a potential series of threads that may arise from it) I would like to ask for your opinions, please...

On my profile you will find two photos.  One is the same that you see here as my avatar... we'll call it "bedroom", and the other is another photo of myself that I loaded yesterday evening which we'll refer to as "kitchen".

If you were searching through profiles, which photo would appeal to you most, and why?

Truthfully, neither one.  The quality is exceptionally poor on both of them.  However, if you could get a proper shot taken with a proper camera, certainly the one of you lying down showing your face is by far more appealing.  There is nothing appealing about straining to stick your ass out and it really says nothing about you.  Not only that, that type of shot would really only work if you were in a thong, you stood up somewhat straighter and your head was turned slightly more towards the camera to give a profile of your face..  And not in a kitchen.  There is nothing sexy or appealing about a kitchen.  Finally, the greatest majority of people do not want to date your ass, but they will have a great interest in what you look like.  Soooo, if you want to use a booty shot I would keep it as a secondary photo myself unless it was remarkably well done and sensually inviting, such as what I suggested.

Besides, the lying down pose looks nice and relaxed.  It looks warm, casual and inviting.
