To assist in a discussion that FirmHandKY and I are having (and a potential series of threads that may arise from it) I would like to ask for your opinions, please...

On my profile you will find two photos.  One is the same that you see here as my avatar... we'll call it "bedroom", and the other is another photo of myself that I loaded yesterday evening which we'll refer to as "kitchen".

If you were searching through profiles, which photo would appeal to you most, and why?

Looked at both and personally prefer your avatar pic..but only because it is different and elegant as opposed to the usual per se....with my pictures I prefer the one that is not my avatar picture..however the mods in their infinite wisdom said it could not be used as my "main" photo...Tempting

I like the avatar picture because it's very sensual..... and you can see your lovely face.

Huh?  Why?  It's just you playing peekyboo.  I'm confused.

I like the kitchen shot.  Something about a pair of Daisy Duke's...  I like the casual nature of the pic, the everyday sort of feel.  The bedroom shot is nice, but has an artificial feel to it.

    I dunno, I'm kinda weird.

You have a lovely man now, you lucky thing!  Congratulations

The kitchen shot is very sexy.

But since you do not want to attract the sleazy element, stick with the bedroom shot.

I don't know, FT... FirmHandKY has also been known by the moniker of "Ogre" for many years, and I think maybe an Ogre outranks a Troll.

Besides... TrollsVixen kinda scares me.

I'd prefer the Bedroom picture (your avatar) because it shows your face.... if the kitchen picture had you looking over your shoulder and I could see your face... I'd definitely prefer it because of the catching-you-in-the-act vibe it carries.

No, not weird at all, Rich.

Your comments very much matched mine.

I've got more to say about them, but will wait for the CM "jury" to weigh in a bit more.

Well, Firm, I'm enough of an Ogre that we had Shrek and Fiona on top of our wedding cake, maybe that's a clue.

hehe ... seems like we share a lot in common, Rich.

I was "the Ogre" to people in my life a while before Shrek was made, too.  I think it was when my oldest boy wanted to do something, and I didn't allow it.  In his frustration he said "You're just a Ogre".

It caught on, I guess.  Not a bad summary of my personality at times.  And I kinda liked it, too.

I like them both, but they are both so different. If I had to opt for one that says "Hi, it's me", it would be the bedroom shot, because you can see your face (on the other hand, you may not want your face shown, so, either one).

She is a dangerous predator cleverly disguised as a house cat.

Wait... I think that was the other way around... oh, well she will have to correct it tomorrow.

I think they're both hot, because of the suggestive nature, but neither of them are overly explicit. I do agree with what others have said though. I like seeing your face, in the avatar, but it does have a bit of a 'posed' or artificial quality to it, while the other has a more spontaneous, caught-in-the-act feel.
As usual, I can't make up mind. I hate having to choose! I want it all.

I thought the same thing, Tempting. Your photo is HAWT. What would the mods not allow it as a main photo? What am I missing?

I much prefer your face shot that you had in your avatar a while ago. The face tells a thousand stories, unlike a pair of legs. Plus, I have a thing for long, flowing hair :-)

Thank you all so much for your replies... I've really been a bit surprised.  I'm not terribly fond of the second photo, though FirmHandKY has explained to me why he finds it appealing and I can understand it completely.

I think it's going to be fun to explore here in the forums some of the things we've talked about.

I think both your photos are lovely, Tempting, but your eyes do look fabulous in the second photo.

I don't think you're weird, at all.  Or is that "wyrd"?

Wonderful reply, Nikolette.  Something we plan to get into a bit in other threads... the reason women seem to have a preference for seeing faces.

I like them both, but they are both so different.

*laughs*  Yes, they are very different.  Of course, for me it's because one I like, and one I don't particularly care for.  Thank you, Susan.

Well... even house cats can be deadly.

Thank you, Hmmmmnbird.  (Did I get the right amount of "m"s in there?  )  And thank you for the private message.

Photos rules on CM don't allow a face to be masked or improperly concealed... or something like that.

*laughs*  NG... I've had several face shots in my profile.  Now I'm going to be forever curious as to which one it was.

edited to remove a zillion extra spaces...
