I totally screwed up the whiskey sauce.. I added too much whiskey and that is all I can taste.
Anyone have a way to fix that?
It is the first time I've made this sauce :( and I think I'm a lil bit buzzed from it :) but the taste is just TOO strong for me :(
LOL eep @ the smileys. Buzzed indeed. Okay I had a shot of whiskey while whisking because of the similarity of words.
(I don't usually drink, can ya tell?).

:::::laffin:::: cjenny you are so cute! The only way i know to fix it is to throw out half the sauce and remake the other half with no whiskey. If you think you added more than twice the needed amount, throw it all out and start over. Good whiskey sauce can be as close to heaven as we will get this side, don't cheat yourself!

Add some brown sugar.

The whole half bit is too complicated atm. Hehehe. So I'm making a whole new batch. FT I tried adding brown sugar but it didnt cut the whisked whiskey. I was hoping something like.. using a raw potato for a too salty soup fix or something.

Methinks maybe I should make non whisked whiskey sauce [:D] . BUT the bread pudding itself turned out purrfectly yay.

Since cooked raisins ick me out I decided to add a handful of thawed frozen blueberries on top & it works great.

Thankies for the help.

Just heat it up. Once it hits about 100 degrees it will evaporate the alkeehaul and start to caramelize.

Feline, nine bux for a cocktail is awful (unless you really *want* to pay it, of course), especially at a place where you're getting a single shot of something worth paying for, and six shots of fluff to go with it. Much better alternative is to find a cute bartender and experiment from there. [:D]

Only if it is whisked whiskey sauce [8D] .
Next time I am using a flavored rum extract, I'm such a non-drinker!

Oh oh! Another question... how come there isn't such thing as powdered wine? Like for cooking.. a wine concentrate. Wine bullion cubes? Wine paste?
Whine.
I like to cook with it, but a bottle lasts for ages n goes to vinegar before I can finish it.

FukinTroll -> RE: these drinks are awfull temping, but............... (3/4/2007 3:17:59 PM)

Feeze it into ice cubes.

cjenny -> RE: these drinks are awfull temping, but............... (3/4/2007 3:20:08 PM)

Truly? I thought alcohol products didn't freeze. Yay I'm going to have red/white shiraz/merlot cubes [:D]

CassandraAlexis -> RE: these drinks are awfull temping, but............... (3/4/2007 3:27:01 PM)

I have the same problem you do, so I freeze it. I do it a bit differently and freeze in 1cup portions. It will keep a really long time in the freezer. Dont expect it to get hard like a popsicle, its more like a slushie.... now thats an idea ... wine slushies ... hmmm ...

FukinTroll -> RE: these drinks are awfull temping, but............... (3/4/2007 3:35:31 PM)

Yup. You can use regular ice cube trays and when you want to throw a lil wine in a marinara, or other sauce it is just about the perfect amount.

It's so cool having a pool of knowledge to dip from.

Thankies, again.

Now.. what does it mean when I try n print but I get an RFP server unavailable message? At least I think it was RFP... dang whisked whiskey & those 2 shots.

[:D] feel free to ignore the rambles tumbling from my brain this evening. FT made me think too much earlier haha.
