Others are very right: be yourself. There are no universal laws about Ds and certainly no manual about how to act. If someone doesn't approve of you being you, then they are not a match for you. If you find a school of thought that appeals to you, find a mentor inside that school. It's ok to look and watch for someone who fits with you and impresses you. The only rules of thumb that apply here are really the rules found in polite society: be polite and courteous, be neat and clean, be attentive when someone else is talking, etc. etc. Hopefully you know how to do these things already. But, even these rules can be bent in a Dom/sub relationship; some people simply do not want to be treated the way you want to be treated (it's taken me a while to grasp that). Master Fire
