Just to start by giving credit where credit is due I just want to say that this post was inspired by a currently active post on the "ask a mistress" forum, however not wanting to take that thread on a tangent I decided to post fresh. I am a submissive male and have been for quite some time. I am also a fairly radical feminist, these two aspects have little to do with one another, I assure you, but there are spaces where these two parts of my personality intersect and cause me stress. One such place is the whole notion of sissification and forced femininity. ***DISCLAIMER*** It is not my intention to criticize the lifestyle and/or play choices of others on this forum. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and do not take my personal disagreement or questioning of said opinions to be a personal attack of any kind. That said, I have a very hard time attempting to reconcile by own interests in being a sissy with my views as a feminist. More specifically, I have major issues with the concept that a male embracing femininity is somehow worthy of humiliation, or that the act itself is a humiliating act. To my mind, this is at its core one of the reasons we have the rather vast gender gap that we have in our society. Treating men with a wish to embrace femininity as somehow deviant or even just out of the ordinary seems to me to accept the power dynamics between genders that exist in our society. Or, to put it another way, it is accepting as fact that women are in fact less powerful in our culture and to place one's self in that position is a humiliating act in and of itself. I also can't help but wonder at the lack of women who have a "forced masculinity" fetish or whatever you want to call it. To me it indicates that being or acting masculine is not a humiliating act, whereas acting feminine is a humiliating act. There are just as many if not more female submissives as there are male ones, and I know of quite a few who enjoy humiliation as well, yet I haven't even heard of forced masculinity before. The point of this diatribe, for those of you still reading, is not me trying to chance anyone else's view, but merely to see if there are those out there who have contemplated this, and to see if there are those who can help me with my own struggle to cope with this issue. So by all means, post your opinions people! :)
