It depends on how much you support them. You can go online and determine that at the irs website. there are specific guidelines

The master/mistress/dominant would only be able to claim the submissive/slave as a dependent if the IRS criteria for them being a dominant is met. For further information, see the regulations on IRS.gov.
There are a whole bunch of criteria that need to be met. Consulting with a tax professional would be a good idea before taking the exemption.

This year, I didn't have to worry about that. I filed as early as I had my paperwork ready, and have since received my 'fed' and state refunds back.
In the past, I've had partners who were way to 'dependent' for their own good, but I didn't try to con the government into thinking they were overgrown children.
