I have always used the term mentor, when you are teaching someone else about a subject or passing along a skill that you have some expertise in. It doesnt mean that By using this knowledge or bond that develops to my advantage.. The old expression, beware of greeks bearing gifts, ( I do not personally imply anything with regard to the use of the term greeks, feel free to insert the nationality of your choice)
