I have Windows XP. When I log out or let the computer running idle and later return I have to log in again as a user. Apparently when I exit the computer saves the settings of the running programs. Today I left the computer running idle and it apparently automatically logged me out with some programs running. One of them was Windows Explorer and I had switched it to off line working while having a link to a forum. Explorer now refuses to connect to this forum, as it apparently saved the setting off line working for that url. I can access other websites, but not that one. Explorer wants me to phone in to make a connection to internet and presumably that website. I cannot, as I never do. Even if I order it to make such a connection it simply reports that it failed and will try again in five seconds. In any case the connection already exists, as demonstrated by the fact that I can access CM and post this question. I get my internet direct from a plug in the wall. I have had such difficulty before, not being able to get any internetconnection, but usually when I in desperation shut down the computer and later restart it the problem no longer rears its head. Is there any way I can undo that saving of settings? Or whatever?
