My conclusion now about the middle east, is it is not our actual intent to "fix" it, or make it stable. But rather to make it unstable. Why? Because an unstable middle east is a middle east that will never grow to a level of education, economic stability, and industrial base, to shake off the foreign interests. A stable peaceful prosperous middle east, would mean a end to siphoning of cheap oil. As long as the region is in conflict and a general state of militarization, little progress will occur, and the west is insured that they will sell the only resource they have, oil in exchange for arms, and luxuries. It seems a smart move if one's objective is to secure "oil" above all else. Why conquer when you can just keep it fucked up? Conquering as a permanent affair would require huge near permanent cash flows. So, Fuck up Iraq. Then fuck up Iran. Then you try to pull the Saudi's down. Why? Because if your goal is oil, Friends don't really matter. What matters is having countries with oil, that can't support themselves by any other means but selling oil, and you encourage that state by inciting war, or a perpetual state of militization. It does the West in general, absolutely no good to have a middle east that doesn't need to sell oil to survive. So, keep them fighting until the well runs dry. That is my current view of why, we are doing what we do. And by we I mean most of the supposed "civilized" nations.
