Just a reminder to those in the USA.. tomorrow, Sun March 11th, is our new daylight saving time! (That means you reset your clock before bed tonight!!) Joy and bliss, you get to lose an hour of sleep already! Don't forget, unless you've gotten a patch, you'll have to manually reset your computer's time now, and again on the regular day light savings time date.

Yes day light savings time. A extra hour of hiking, biking or metal detecting, I will use it and not complain.

ScooterTrash -> RE: Day light savings starts Sunday (3/10/2007 7:33:24 PM)

Alas Glide, I'm not so thrilled with it. I drive a very curvy road to work and used to be able to ride to work in the mornings, with reasonble safety. Now, since we joined the daylight savings folks...well I don't ride to work at all. I guess I have a thing about missing a turn in the dark and ending up in a ravine somewhere. I really liked it better when we (Indiana) didn't change at all.

Ok, question.  Will it matter one tiny bit if I DON'T reset the clock on my computer twice?  Was there an automatic update for Windows XP?  Is this the real Y2K???

Hey Rich   do what I am going to do   nothing   we don't recognize daylight savings time.

Must be nice.  Unfortunately, my employer does.

The Windows patch is necessary not only for Windows itself, but also other applications that depend on the time.  It will only work with SP 2 however.

juliaoceania -> RE: Day light savings starts Sunday (3/10/2007 7:59:27 PM)

I am a freak, I love this time of year, I love the extra daylight after work. I feel like I get more done. I know I am a freak

But when I am at Daddy's that means I will be getting up an hour earlier, depending on what is going on with his work that could be at 4:30 am... ouch

ElectraGlide -> RE: Day light savings starts Sunday (3/10/2007 8:01:42 PM)

We have a uni-bomber type at work that blew a fuse after a divorce and moved into a cabin in the woods without electricity or running water. Someone told him to set his sun dial a hour ahead and to tell the rooster to get up an hour early to do his crowing to wake him up.

Any chance you could dumb that down for somebody who hasn't been 'puter literate since a 486 was hot shit?

Daylight Savings Time...what a joke that is...just another form of Government control

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Day light savings starts Sunday (3/10/2007 8:14:00 PM)

it's part of the Bush's energy policy from 2005 as a way to get more Americans to conserve energy and electric power from now until the 1st Sunday in Nov.

enjoy

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: Day light savings starts Sunday (3/10/2007 8:32:09 PM)

Daylight Savings Time dates much further back than Bush

it's an ongoing Government ploy to control people...except for Arizona

dcnovice -> RE: Day light savings starts Sunday (3/10/2007 8:40:50 PM)

I love DST! It means there's at least a remote chance of my leaving work during daylight.

FukinTroll -> RE: Day light savings starts Sunday (3/10/2007 8:42:30 PM)

Wait a sec... did the year change again too?

To get to the new DST the year has to change.
