I talk in my sleep, often I mumble, I have woke myself up mumbling lately when sleeping with Daddy. I need 6 to 8 hours of sleep a night, and I adore the occasional nap. I have vivid dreams, rarely do I have nightmares.

My sleep pattern is a mess. I think that I need up to nine hours - the poll did not provide for that length. Perhaps I should take notes.

I usually wake up after about two hours, take a sip of water from a bottle and immediately fall asleep again.

Evanesce -> RE: What are your sleep patterns and habits? (3/11/2007 8:59:12 PM)

I need a MINIMUM of 8 hours a night.  During the week, when I have to work, I get about 4-6.  Then I make up for it by sleeping 10-11 hours Wednesday through Saturday.  And if I dream, it's always a nightmare, and it's always someone trying to kill me.  Except for that one time 29 years ago when I dreamed I was having sex and woke up to one very powerful orgasm.  Why can't I repeat THAT dream!  Sheesh!

i sleep about 5 hours usually, but Thor is another matter. If anyone can guess how much , if any , sleep he needs they get a special prize

I sleep in intervals. Usually 2 hours at first followed by 30 minutes here, 45 minutes there...I sleep more during the day than anything else.

SweetSarijane -> RE: What are your sleep patterns and habits? (3/11/2007 10:11:46 PM)

I am lucky if I sleep a 4 hour stretch at a time. I sleep some at night and some days I nap in the afternoon. I have dealt with insomnia off and on....usually on.....for about 5 years now. Every once in a while it's like it all catches up with me and I sleep and sleep and sleep for a few days and then back to the not sleeping much again.

Thanks Ven, yes it is in sight. Which is why I have been putting up with such an insane schedule. The end is indeed in sight and the improvements in life that will follow the sacrifice is well worth it.

i usually get between 6 to 8 hours of sleep, although i could get by with 6 or less if i had to... lately, though, it's been 8 or more, since having my apartment and the hunt for jobs is slow... i have vivid dreams/nightmares, but i haven't had one that i could remember recently...  and ever since i've was little, i've managed to push the bedsheets down to the end of the bed somehow while sleeping, usually using only my comforter for coverings... don't ask me why, but i do...

Between dreams right now. Woke up singing, "If we don't change it no body will, no body will, no body will."

Mine suck, since my work schedule varies so do my sleep habits.  For instance, it is 4:25 and I am getting ready for work at 5am today, back to 8am tomorrow and then 1:45 pm friday.

I have suffered insomnia since before I was born.....my mom says I kept her up all night.  My body clock seems to be reversed grom the rest of the worlds.....I'm up all night, and sleep during the day.Even then, it's more napping than sleeping...what I wouldn't give for 8 hours of pure uninterrupted sleep!  I'd settle for 4-6......

My dreams are movie length, full technicolor dreams, as are my nightmares.  When I've been in training for my job of choice, I have often been so stressed about it, that I've actually woken up dispatching cops to calls.  External noises have a habit or working themselves into my dreams, and actually changing them.  When I get tired or stressed, I've been known to "see" things that later happen.....fortunately, that doesn't happen often.  I don't walk, but sometimes I've been tolf I mumble in my sleep...used to piss my sister off!  She always told me to speak up!  One interesting thing to note.....I am fully capavle of carrying on a complete conversation in my sleep, and never know it happened.  Even promised a supervisor I'd come in early to work one day!

Rumtiger -> RE: What are your sleep patterns and habits? (3/12/2007 5:45:38 AM)

theres no option for us hibernators, stay up for a week straight and then sleep for 48 hours to regenerate.

LaTigresse -> RE: What are your sleep patterns and habits? (3/12/2007 7:32:47 AM)

I am one of those boring people that need a good night's sleep. During the week I try to get to bed around 9 though sometimes it's closer to 10, and am always up by 5AM. Normally I sleep very well the whole night thru, except when the hormones are wreaking havoc and then I tend to wake up more often during the night to get a drink of water and make a quick trip to the bathroom. Fortunately I almost never have any trouble falling asleep so it's not that big of a deal.

I almost always dream, especially vivid when the hormones are raging which makes up for the interrupted sleep, and was inspired several years ago to begin doing dreamwork which is actually quite fascinating. I very rarely have nightmares. Though I have had the previously mentioned orgasmic sex dreams......more please.

Oh yeah, and like someone else mentioned.........neked.[:D]

My body, when left to its own devices is strictly nocturnal and will stay up until dawn and get up in the early afternoon.  I also require less sleep when I do this.

However, in the 9-5 world I have to beat up my body clock and thusly require a MINIMUM of eight hours of sleep.  I envy people who can get by on much less.

Same here, Magdalena, another noctural by nature woman.

denika -> RE: What are your sleep patterns and habits? (3/12/2007 2:43:54 PM)

I do shift work, but lucky for me my body adapts well to sleeping all sorts of odd hours.    When I am not at work I generally go to bed late, I'm a night person. I find I am far more productive  when the sun sets, and I tend to sleep in late.  I can function of 4 hours of sleep for a few days in a row (which usually happens when I am on my three nightshifts for work) but after the third day I need at least 12 hours to function properly.     I used to sleep walk all the time, freaked the hell out Rob, he would find me just standing and staring into space, lol made him think of freaky horror movies *s*  I only do that when I am exceptionlly stressed.Same with nightmares. On average it was once a week that I would wake up screaming in terror. My mind and bodies way of venting the stress I get from work. I found that when I play it keeps the nightmares at bay, it gives me another outlet, a catharsis to release the trauma's I hear and deal with at work.

Rob on other hand is an insomniac, he hates taking medication for it and does his best to get around it but when he is on a streak it can be weeks and sometimes even months before he gets a full 8 hours of deep sleep, my screaming in his ear from time to time doesn't help eiether *g*
