alovelylady4U -> The Strength of Unity? (3/11/2007 12:16:35 PM)

i was corrected for saying i am fairly new~ so may i say instead ~i lack RT experience . Even  more so on the message boards. One of my worst fears are my skills in communication yet!

Today i glanced a few threads here and am a bit concerned. One thread was speaking about CM in the news and how this site should be closed and the owners should be ....  And a second was attacking the Mods for some reason.

i have a feeling the owners and mods are more concerned over the CourtTV article. i think many of U/us would be worried how far this will go.

****i truly believe it has come time to put aside O/our differences and stand T/together united with 1 voice ready to speak LOUD & CLEAR should the need arise.  And not just P/people uniting here on CM but on sites all over the world.  This is not a local issue, this is am fundamental right, O/ours*****

Over the past few months i have noticed a trend of D/M, sw, s/sl removing pictures and wondered what on earth was in the air? (my nature of course) Well  W/we may now know~ W/we are about to face a major turning point possibly, many of U/us may be "pulled from the closet? kicking and screaming." But W/we will not be ALONE!

i do not have a lot, it is true, but i will do/give what i can to help and to let the owners and mods know i am there for A/all of Y/you should a need arise.  i used  to joke about "Give me 50 good troopers with PMS, a Leader going through Menopause and i will show Y/you a 10 minute war. O/our battle cry would be - Don't make me come over there!"  i never really thought i may be "going to war" over my own beliefs and chosen lifestyle in a country that so strongly believes in the rights of its citizens, but i am as ready as i will ever be........

Respectfully leeli

Since I was never in the closet to begin with, it really does not matter if someone can identify me or not.

Well I'm a bit concerned- after all people in Texas are trying to sue MySpace for not "doing enough" to protect girls from predators.  It's always hysterical how parents will scream bloody murder if someone tries to interfere with their parenting in the least, but then when something goes wrong, it's always someone else's fault and responsibility.

Not that it's always black and white either which way.

So, it's a concern I have, but this far not something overly concerning for me.  And certainly nothing that will unite us.

my only skeleton is that I am needy and I believe I wear it like a badge anyway .... could not hide it if I tried....

this was the only line of the post i really had a difficult time understanding, as i'm not sure what all the stuff between the slashes is supposed to mean. i removed my own pictures partly because i was sick of the vulgar emails i was getting and mostly because i'd like to protect my dominant's privacy due to the nature of his work. that said, i don't worry too much because i am "out" in all the places where it matters, and were i "outed" to my school or work, i doubt anyone would really care all that much. most of the people i know have enough propriety to know that what goes on behind closed doors and in our minds ought to stay there, and people dragging it out of those places to try and ruin reputations are themselves the ones who are at fault here.

so for those reasons i don't really worry about being "outed." i also have a hard time imagining the membership of cm standing united on anything.

i think i got it...dominants/masters and submissives/slaves, anyway. the sw still eludes me.

Well, considering I just published an Ms lifestlye book under my real name, as have others here on Collarme, I'd say I'm pretty out. LOL The picture in the "About Author" page of the book is even a picture of me in the outfit to the left. ;-) I LOVE the keyhole corset!

Im not worried about being identified, and Angel's only concern is with people who wouldnt admit to seeing him on this site, becasue that would mean they were looking as well. SO, theres no concern here.

sub4hire -> RE: The Strength of Unity? (3/11/2007 6:53:29 PM)

I would imagine the reason collarme is being mentioned so much on the news is because the sheer amount of people who know it exists.
Gives them good publicity with the bad.
The internet is not annonymous in any way.  The people who need to know who you are already do.
If something is going to happen there isn't a whole lot we can do to stop the wheels from being in motion.  Other than support collarme as best as we can.

I am not claiming to understand.  Though what I think she is saying is instead of complaining..etc.  We should all be unified for the better good of the site?
Collarme seems to be getting hit pretty hard by stuff right now.

When in reality it is all BDSM sites.

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: The Strength of Unity? (3/11/2007 7:02:56 PM)

I agree LA and the parents give them a computer and cam ,private phones or cells, allow them to be alone in their rooms for hours online and wonder why there is so much trouble on theses online sites...bounty

angelic -> RE: The Strength of Unity? (3/11/2007 7:08:53 PM)

i do not worry about being 'outted'.  i am pretty open about who i am, although i do not wear it like a 'red badge of courage', i am also not ashamed.

sw:  switches?  or should that be S/switches depending on their mode at the time of reading?

how about South West,.. all the kinky folks in the SW of.. somewhere..
or sway.. Those who can be swayed to someone else's thoughts

sw... must be switches

alovelylady4U -> RE: The Strength of Unity? (3/11/2007 7:28:45 PM)

oo i will try to be more detailed. Sorry,  i sometimes sense things and do not take my time to explain....

Recently, www.collarme.com  was named and posted on  the crime library boards. (see Alternative lifestyles in the news- Collarme.com on Court TV 3/8/07 4:55pm)  It seems a man posted a false profile here that asked for someone rape be very brutal to a woman he was angry with? This was first in print in a major newspaper and now to court tv site.Well it is all in the link from this thread. And i must confess~ i only glanced the general details.

A person then posted to this site that not only should this Hu? be severely dealt with but that www.collarme.com should be closed down and the owners possibly held responsible? (Et al 1-1,000  is that the term?)- Again see the second link in the Alternative lifestyles in the news thread.  What if? what if someone decides sites like CM can be held responsible? Someone mentioned no one was taking the bait- but i have a feeling it may happen. Shoot the media alone goes nuts for such things.

Another Person here in His profile speaks of a woman that has commited a terrible crime, this will ice the cake nicely?  Like it or not W/we as a group shall be judged and maybe worse?  The exact link as i understand is posted so W/we are all now "on display" and for many of the members, it could be very harmful.

Sure there have been the odd news events that blame such sites, without naming the ite, for a rape scene filming in the woods?  But now every tom dick and mary are probably curious and well....

Recent threads on a different note dealt with why some P/people did not post T/their pictures. Many of U/us  replied O/our  jobs/careers would be at risk if T/they were linked to such a lifestyle. Teachers, Law Enforcement, Minister, lawyers, doctors, therapists? Many have remained low keyed and in the background for a reason. For many man years this entire lifestyle was more or less kept a secret?

Few things i have noted this past year and one being such disagreement even among O/ourselves. As a group it is time not to fuss but to join together. What if someone does decide the owners of CM are responsibile for the woman being raped and brutilized? and maybe even the mods because they did not stop it- Their job right? If they succeed in getting the owners having to defend themselves and this site....

So it may be so much more than simply being labeled BDSM. If noticed, so much more is coming out about the various life choices and not always in a positive way.  This court case may be very important to U/us as a group. A thread once asked "how far would Y/you go for this lifestyle?"  Under a new light? How far would you go to protect this site and the owners, as well as Y/your chosen lifestyle? Again~ i will do whatever i can to be of help.

i am not certain if this has helped to clear my first post or not.....
