I've been searching and searching for a collar identical or very similar to the collar from "Unleashed". In The UK and Europe, I think it was called "Danny the Dog". ANY idea where I can find one?

No doubt it was custom made by the set and costume designers.
If you find a site with anything similar be sure to let us know....

I read on another site that it was made from a ski boot buckle - a piece of 1 or 1.5 inch stainless steel spring with an adjustable ski boot buckle riveted on.  One person suggests it's a Nordica buckle.

There are similar collars found here:  http://www.cuff24.com/

You ain't kidding!

I've already had lil' nightmares about those solid slave collars that so many wear.  I've always had 'issues' with having anything tight around my neck (I don't even like turtlenecks), and even though I know they don't have to be tight, the idea of not being able to get it off quickly really scares the crap outta me!

Here's a photo of what you're talking about

http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/flipbook.php?id=1151&page=3

Squinting closely at it, it seems like a rigid two piece with extra girth added

If you know someone with a welder, you could probably add to these designs

Try going to a jeweler and seeing if they can fabricate one for you custom. We looked a long time online trying to find one that was right for us. Each one we looked was perfect except for ... (fill in the blank). So we just went to a local small time jeweler and was pleasantly suprised how inexpensive and easy it was.

No, not quite similar, in my head. I still need it to be flexible and fairly light. What fascinated me the most was the quick disconnect. Thanks though!

The collar isn't massive nor is it solid metal. It just has some metal work on it. It's still leather underneath...and had a kick as buckle. I'll see what I can find using the name, though.

They're made of aluminum, so I'm guessing that they aren't as heavy as they look.  Could be wrong though.  Loraith said machined aluminum can still be fairly heavy, but it's not like it's a solid piece of steel.

Aluminum is much lighter than steel, about 1/3 that of steel for and equal volume. We'd never have had gotten beyond fabric covered planes if we hadn't figure out how to smelt bauxite ore (where aluminum comes from). But, yes, large chunck of aluminum still have weight. My main reaction to those collar is, "WHY? What's the point?" *chuckle*

I know the collar you are talking about, I saw the movie and thought that the collar was awesome, but I personaly am not looking for a collar so I had made no attempt at finding one. Made a few searches  and was able to find calogne in gallon sized bottles. something tells me that isn't what You were realy looking for...

Seriously, i was not able to find a collar even similar to the one in Unleashed, but if You know someone that is good with leatherworks possibly you can buy a similar latch and have it mounted on a leather collar.

One latch that I saw that had a good look (at least in my opinion) http://www.mizengineering.com/productshow.asp?id=660

Thanks. I'll keep looking at butterfly latches. I need to watch the movie again to remind myself what the latch looks like and how it works.
