Fashion disasters happen to all of us at one time or another,
something breaks, rips, falls off or what have you.  What happened
to you and how did you fix the problem?

Has she offered to purchase an entire new wardrobe for you yet?

Awww.. I'd say none of these are so much "fashion disasters" as they are bummer bad luck things to happen at the wrong time, lol.

Now...white tights/pantyhose with black shoes? Disaster. Farah Fawcett circa 1978 feathered poof? Disaster. Long floaty skirts on a short legged, short waisted woman? Disaster. =)

Cheers,
Stella

Erp.. I had the Farrah hair. Yes it was a disaster hehe.
As for the poll I hit the shoes. My ex husband n I went to an upscale AIDS benefit. I had new new serious heels on and yup I couldn't walk. So I sold them to a woman at my table (donated the money) and spend the evening barefoot. My poor ex, somehow his shoes began falling apart on him, leaving bits of leather and sole all over. So both of us ended up in either bare feet or socks.

They were really beautiful shoes   but I guess 5 inch heels are 4 inches too much!

the worst was my senior year in college:  I bought a pretty pink dress at a thrift store to wear to a dance, and managed to rip the back of the dress all the way up to my waist...was so completely drunk, didn't even realize it at first.  fortunately the dance was at a hotel, the concierge gave me a sewing kit so I could sew up the back of my dress in the ladies' restroom.

charming, huh.

The closest I could get to transparent was being in a wedding a few years ago and the dresses for the bridesmaids all had these little trains. Ghastly things because who can have a pretty bridesmaids dress ever. It's a conspiracy by the bridal industry to make the bride the prettiest thing at the event dammit. I lost a little too much weight in the last week of the wedding and my dress was pretty much pinned on. Strapless little thing with a mermaid train in friggin green and blues.

Here we go down the aisle until the flower girl stops full out and throws a hissy a quarter of the way down the aisle. The groomsmen and I finally decide to just pick her up and carry her. The problem started when I went to take the first step again and the bridesmaid behind me was standing on my train....the dress comes free of the pinnings and slides down pretty much to my hips before I catch it.

So I'm topless save for some support cups (in clear latex) and some duct tape. As the groomsman next to me is trying to juggle the flower girl and pull my dress up the pins that were holding it up to begin with are stabbing me and digging in not letting the dress come back up. The bouquet I'm holding isn't even close to covering what I was blessed with..and the videoagrapher just keeps filming!

Needless to say the entire walk down the aisle was restarted, the tape was confiscated and I was the most popular bridesmaid at the reception.

I have declined every request to be a bridesmaid since.

The only one i've really suffered from is snagging my new french designer jeans on a chair with a screw sticking out at my local munch. The torrent of swear words which spilled from my mouth certainly got some decidedly dissaproving looks to which i smiled and shut up.

Work disasters, thanks to a very ornery photo machine. The door closed on the leg of my slacks, and ripped a hole in them.  In the attempt to detach myself, I turned, and the shelf in the machine caught the other leg. I went home with matching holes, on each knee. My manager, being funny, said to me "Looks like youve had a rough pant day?"
My response was "At least my fly hasnt been down all day, wonder if the DM noticed."
(DM being District Manager who had been in for a meeting earier that afternoon)

I enjoyed the laugh... the manager was as red as his silk boxers

Oh good grief, a lifetime of jobs in dresses and suits until this one, I have had my fair share..........bra strap breaks, keep safety pins in my bag.......also works good for ripped out skirt hems.

Ripped the seat of jeans several times........once on a bucking horse right after having a baby, still a little too tight, and once just because the jeans were so old and fragile but so soft and fitted so well. Fast trip to buy new jeans that time.

Snagged clothing on barbed wire fences many times.......just laugh, what else can you do.

Many many snags and runs in stockings on file cabinets, always a spare pair in the trusty bag.

Definately had lil ones spew, just clean it up the best you can until you get home.

Shoes break.......hobble home best you can or go barefooted.

Stuff spilled, I am pretty good at either cleaning it acceptably or finding a backup plan.

These are fashion disasters...

..all of the above..however my most memorable fashion disaster was with a gentleman who was not even my date!..I was 27 had hair down to my knees, and was on the dance floor with my partner, when all of a sudden I feel a sharp pull on my hair.I stop, turn around and discover that my hair is caught in the guys zipper behind me. It seems the man had forgotten to zip himself back up when he finished using the facilities..So he is pulling on my hair trying to get it detached from his zipper and its just getting more entangled, I push his hands away and am trying as well to detach us, meanwhile our respective partners are on the side lines attempting to pretend that they are not with us, all dancing has stopped to view our efforts. Finally I just simply grab the man, get us off the dance floor and into a more private area to get us seperated..Sad to say though, that after this my date was rather reluctant to touch my hair that evening, considering where it had been.....Tempting

Oh my goodness!  I think you win for the greatest level
of public embarrassment here!  And caught on video
tape, no less.

Once, years ago after losing a significant amount of weight, I was walking along with one of our company executives.  We were walking from one building to another, and had to cross a busy intersection.  Standing there on the curb with this man, my slip decided at that very moment it was no longer going to fit me and slid right on down to my feet.  What the hell?!  It fit when I put it on that morning, albeit a little loose.  But nope, there it went, to the sidewalk.

He looked at me, I looked at the slip, I looked at him, and said, "Well apparently that doesn't fit anymore" and I stepped out of it and picked it up.

Horrifying.

For me, still LMAO!...it's nearly a toss up between the bridesmaid story and the hair in the guy's zipper one...but the repeated snafoos made the very public humilation of the bridesmaid dress break the tie.  As a Domme you probably did NOT enjoy it, but for a sub that could count as one of the best humilation things to happen...but you couldn't plan on that to happen to save one's life!  That, being a true story at this point,  is almost too much!...ever think of sending the tape into AFV's?  You might just win $10,000 or more!

My clothing breakdowns so far (crossing fingers and legs) have been fairly minor by comparision so some stories shared but broken shoes, torn hosery, or showing slip or stap have gotten me numerous times, with an occassional broken zippers thrown in. Okay maybe an accidential nipple show when going braless in the summer time (but showing little hardened nipples in casual wear...no biggie problem...guys love it.  Also have had some label tags that end up poking out of the tops or dresses and being easy to see has gotten me sometimes too.  But if  I attend any function with heels or special hard to maintain evening wear I have a little bag of "quick fixes" I carry in my purse (safety pins, tiny sewing repair kit, and tape are alwasy good).  But I also load a bag of unrepairable items, like shoes, in the car just in case the worse occurs.

The worse feeling I think to have is if you have a clothing problem others can plainly see it and they don't bother to tell you, or tell you too late, or you finally figure it out and obviously it could be seen publicly.  My first words to someone mentioning it too late is "why didn't you tell me sooner?!"  And that does not tickle my funny bone then!  We gals need to look out for fixable fashion/breakdowns with each other I believe, and believe most do (even a guy if he told me would be appreciated).

I've also learned that before I go out the door to use a hand mirror with a full length mirror to check the "rear view" of everything...clothes, hair and body.  Caught plenty of possible negative looks that way before they got seen by others.  And on a date I I've learned to triple check everything.  But this is of course just the natural consequence of being a woman who has to wear more fragil and revealing of clothes then guys...but at least we have the option to wear it (not a thread starter for fem male subs...sorry!).

BTW, I do hope the straight pins in the bridesmaid dress didn't do you any significant harm....that would not feel funny to me...any masochist types reading this excluded.  Of course a submissive masochist into public humilation would likely consider this a wonderful day to remember....yesssss!

Yes, embarrassing but I was VERRRRY popular with all the male wedding guests at the reception. I dont think I sat down or quit dancing all night. LOL Won't mention how many dates it got me.

The wires from my earclips (the headphones that clip onto your ears.... I don't know if they have a proper name or not... meah) got caught on someone's backpack. He couldn't hear me (we were on a very crowded bus & he had headphones on), and I couldn't get the wires off. Not willing to let them go to a new home, I got off at the same stop, where I pulled on the guys backpack to get his attention. Joy and bliss... music... and a 45 minute walk ahead of me.
