Elegant -> Still Unsafe at Any Speed, but Making Good Time - 2005 Keynote Speech at South Plains Leatherfest (4/2/2005 11:12:39 PM)

Those who attended SouthPlains Leatherfest in February have given accolades to Laura Antoniou for the wonderful keynote speach she presented.

Laura is best known for her Marketplace series (The Marketplace, The Slave, The Trainer, The Academy, and The Reunion)

Here is the keynote speach. It was just published on the Iron Rose site and available for public consumption. Please, feel free to pass on the link, but do not copy/paste the text to other groups.

I thought the speach was fabulous and wanted to share...and hear your thoughts.

It's a fantastic speech, and a nice companion to the "original" version 'Unsafe At Any Speed, or Safe, Sane, and Consensual, My Fanny.' There are a large number of people who could gain a clue or two from both works.

Thanks for posting this link, Elegant. Laura certainly has her own style, doesn't she?

For those who haven't read the speach, Laura speaks about being real and honest about who/what you are. A paraphrase: If you're into this for the kicks, just admit it. If you flat out just LIKE to be the Grand Pooba online, just admit that too. Make up histories if you want, but don't sell them and truth. We'd all appreciate it!

Always straight to the point...lol.

quote:

And folks, if you don't have answers, then don't pretend you do. You look stupid, and what's worse is that you pass your dimness onto some poor schlub who doesn't know the difference, and somewhere, an historian - or even a fiction writer - is losing their brain cells. And it's your fault.

Can we have an amen???? Amen!

best regards,
f
