You don't sound so certain that you really want to do this / have this done to you, KarbonCopy. Is this something that you suggested to Mistress and now She is acting on it ? Or is this Her desire and as Her sub you feel you have to go along with it ? The former would be SSC, the latter NOT SSC.

Going out in public crossdressed is a big step even for a lifelong closet TV. But at least such a TV has spent many hours thinking about what he wants to do or happen when he finally does do it, and during all his dressing behind closed doors, he has also learnt much of the deportment (walking in heels, etc.) and possibly disposition (learning to tone down his more obvious masculine traits while emphasizing the feminine) necessary to "perform" acceptably in public.

If you have never crossdressed before what you are suggesting here is a recipe for disaster. How well people accept and react to a crossdressed male in public depends on the attitude of that male. If he is confident and relaxed in the role people will warm to him just as to any other person with self-confidence. If the CD looks ashamed or uncomfortable in the role, this is what makes others feel uncomfortable with the situation, and may possibly cause them to freak rather than accept, or at least, ignore you. The issue of children and minors that might be present in a department store aside (which is a complete no-no), even in front of other innocent adult witnesses, if YOU appear uncomfortable, THEY will be uncomfortable!

Just as you wouldn't put on a play in public with rehearsals and a final dress rehearsal, you shouldn't crossdress in public until you have done it a sufficient number of times behind closed doors such that you are aware of what you are in for when you hit the store that you ultimately choose as the venue for this scene. Similarly, you shouldn't indulge in the humiliation aspect of crossdressing until you have done that behind closed doors, too, and consequently understand your own limits - but more importantly, that Your Mistress fully understands your limits and knows exactly the full gamut of what She can do to you and how far She can push you.

You should only do in public something that you have practiced, or at least mapped out, in private beforehand. The department store floor is NOT the place to discover that walking in heels is a lot different than you imagined ... your embarrassment will be EVERYONE ELSE'S embarrassment. And those are the situations in which others may freak and reveal their own disgust at what you are doing, or the police being called. Crossdressing in public is NOT illegal, but causing a public commotion or corrupting minors IS prosecutable.

If you are NOT fully into crossdressing what you are suggesting here is NOT for you. It takes a male that is very secure in his masculinity to wear a dress in public. If you have any doubts, don't do this ... think of an alternative activity, such as crossdressing in a fetish or BDSM dungeon environment. This way you get your public humiliation, but if you freak or make a complete ass of yourself at least your public consists of kinksters that can understand what is going on. If you cause someone to freak in Macy's you may well end up down at the police station if only because the police have to remove you to calm them down.

BTW, it is ultimately LESS humiliating to be fully en femme and in full makeup than to be partially crossdressed and/or without makeup. If you really want to do this you need to work up to it gradually by making some forays fully crossdressed to TG friendly locations (such as gay bars and restaurants and/or fetish clubs). You must master the gay / TG / kinkster public audience before you move on to the general public, which is prime time. If you make special arrangements with the store to do what you suggest out of hours when nobody is there except a CD-friendly sales clerk, where is the humiliation in that ? You have just sanitized what you want to get from this scene. If this is about buying a feminine wardrobe for you, you can do that mail order or over the web with the help of your Mistress WRT measurements and choice of clothes, etc. without even leaving home. Learn to separate fantasy from reality.
