im a little curious, i know tha Goreans and non-Goreans dont always see eye to eye, but are there asspects of Gor that can be carried over, to BDSM?

I used to be in Gor and he is right th positions are often carried over.  I know i use some of them with Master.

One thing i know DOES NOT carry over is calling every Dom/Domme Master or Mistress.

Its mainly the positions (usually called something else) that is found in the BDSM side, though i have and am both, you arent just one or the either, you're whatever you want to be.

To be more accurate, they probably did not originate with Gor.  But the Gorean sites have many pictures and explanations of this.  After all, there are a finite number of ways to form a female or male for torture......but within there is endless variation.

I was once instructed that a Gorean slave may present her master with some fruit (I think) if she desires physical intimacy. I have considered doing that as Valyraen and I have different sex drives and I seem to crave it more then him.

I think it was on a website I read somewhere. Of course that is a very reliable reference! [:D]  You are supposed to kneel and present the fruit. Maybe do a seductive dance (I think I read about it while looking at the dances).

I have heard about the flower thing, but that was in reference to Polynesian woman. One side meant she was looking for a lover and the other side meant she already had one.

That is what I remember too. At one point Valyraen and I were trying to work out what was the best and least annoying way for me to ask for intimacy (Heh... I'd like it several times a day....). I suggested this at one point and he decided against it. I think he just wouldn't remember what I was asking for and wonder what his crazy kitten was up to now! [:D]

Not just positions but protocols as well..like begging permission to enter a room.  There is a "Pet" position called "She-sleen" in Gor.  Also service is more cermonial like in Japan.

Yes it is called "Lama" or yellow fruit..like a peach.  Also another way was to tie a knote in the hair on the right side as a non verbal way a slave  would express her wish for her Masters attention.

I'm pretty sure that if a girl wished a Master's attention, said Master would most likely "get it" (Men seem to be really good at figuring these sorts of things out ~hidden smile~), although serving Him a drink and kissing the side of the cup He will drink from as she presents it sure does make for a good nudge nudge wink wink.

Gotta be careful though... many of the Gorean positions on websites are not actually from the books at all, but are just some fantastical notion created by online Gor roleplayers.. "karta" for example.

While I understand this to be true and certainly ran across a great many Gor sites that do just that..If one were to stop and look at this implication of "fantastical"..isn't that pretty much just the same thing Norman has done with positions, and what they are called? He made them up or altered them from other cultural ritual/protocol situations to suit his needs/nitches for his books.

Now I could see a possible problem with this "if" the positions were not coming from a conjoured up story, in actual useage present or past by different cultures with those exact names. This isn't the case so can't much say that persons choosing to conjour up their own positions and names for them is any different than what Norman did.
