Woohoo....medical play!  What fun!!!

OK, one of the most popular chambers in a commercial dungeon is "the Medical Room".

What =
Its a heady mixture of role play (think doctors and nurses), humilation (embarassing examinations of your private bits), mind f*cking (with very scary medical instruments), arse play (enemas), CBT (clamps, sounds, swabs), age play (my "patients" like regressing to about 8 years old), bondage (wriggley boys have to be strapped down to the bed rails), nipple play (just because I want to!), prostate milking (that is a genuine medical practice by the way), uniforms etc etc...........all you really need is an evil imagination :)

Why =
A pro-domme explained it to me this way:  when a little boy is in hospital getting his tonsils/appendix out etc he is washed, fed, dressed and fussed over by adult women (nurses).  Some of these little boys find the experience erotic (without really understanding why at the time) and grow up into men who love re-creating those early feelings of vulnerability and sexual awakening .....mmmmmmmm ...yummy!

Other men just love women in uniform.  Women in control of the situation.  Women with the "right" to touch men all over....in the interests of their "health" of course... ....lol.....

How =

Like all good role play, you need the ability to suspend disbelief and let your imagination take you away into your deepest darkest fantasies.  You need to hand control over to your Lady Doctor/Nurse and make yourself vulnerable.

Done well, it is an altered state of consciousness.  It is not easy.  Role play either works brilliantly - or feels really silly.  Having the equipment and outfits helps and your Nurse needs to know what she is doing.

That's why many people are prepared to pay pro-dommes for really good medical. * Ordinary women put out : a Dominatrix can blow your mind.

* I am not a pro-domme and never have been.

Cathedars require an explanation all of their own

Why do "patients" love them?  Some men want you to control everything: every single bodily function.

They enjoy complete sensory deprivation (cannot see, hear, feel or taste), total immobilisation, gag and butt plug and ....as the peice de resistance........you even take away control of their bladder.

Mistress has utter and absolute physical control. And that allows some men to "let go" and fall into a meditative state.  Their minds let go.  Such is the paradox: finding complete freedom only in complete bondage.

This kind of play can be a spiritual experience.  Hope this post makes sense!

ummm....needles requite an explanation all their own too!

Needle play is different again.  For the bottom, it is probably the safest fastest way to get a  massive hit of endorphins (which affects the same receptors in the brain as opiates).  For the Top, it is a form of artistsic expression.  Needles can be included in medical play of course but needle play tends to be more artistic, ritualistic and "showy" than medical.

Thank you so much for your take on Medical play...I can see also what you said about the naughty nurse and uniform  fantasys being a real turn on for both.

I did have a question  still about something mentioned about sounds in play? What exactly is it and what is it really doing to the body?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sounding or urethral sounding is a medical activity using probes called sounds to increase the inner diameter of the urethra and to locate obstructions in it. It is also used to stretch the urethra in order to receive piercing. Sounding in a sexual context (see Urethral Play) involves inserting sounds and sometimes catheters into the urethra (sometimes stretching or dilating the urethra), and sometimes bladder, for the purpose of sexual pleasure, an activity generally associated with BDSM. A urethral sound may be connected to a special electrical device for use in erotic electrostimulation. The use of urethral sounding in this way can potentially be damaging to the urethra, especially when an inexperienced partner is involved. SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE(but are not restricted to): a burning/stinging sensation, iritation or swelling, or urinating blood. Consult a physician if this occurs.

I say:
Some people love the idea of sticking things down a man's penis.  Look around on the net for advice before doing it.  In my limited experience of sounds, use lube and pee straight afterwards to flush out the bugs or you might get a urinary tract infection.

If your Domme is good, she will be careful with cleanliness and you should not get any injuries.  Don't let a complete idiot use sounds on you becuase you do not want to be unexpectedly p*ssing blood.
Good luck

Medial play can play upon the the feeling of vunerability and violation inherant in invasive procedures. These feeling can be compounded by including bondage, intimidation , and role play senarios.

The "Doctor/ Nurse" should be trained on the proceedures, most of them involve a risk of infection and injury, before practicing alone on a person.

Ahh, good old medical play.  This is something I do quite a bit of.  It is actually a pretty broad category and crosses over into other areas a lot.  If using uretheral sounds this is something that must be taught one to one.  It is not something to be tried after seeing a demo.  Also, each bottom/sub must have his dedicated set of sounds to prevent infection.  Unless the dominant has access to a hospital quality autoclave you can't be certain of sterility if sounds are used for more than one person.

I also like to so saline infusions of scrotums, labias and breast tissue.  This is another procedure that must be taught one to one to prevent infection, learning proper placement of the infusion needle/catheter.  Actually, other than the role playing aspects and possibly giving enemas to be safe most medical play is something that one needs a mentor to give one to one instruction to insure safety and infection control and proper technique.  The medical devices such as speculums, oral retainers, casting material, catheters etc require a fair amount of knowledge of anatomy and someone to practice on in order to learn how to do it correctly.  One can see a demo of flogging and practice on a pillow to get the strokes down and feel for the flogger imprinted to your mind but a pillow just won't do for insertion of sounds, infusions, casting material restraint etc. lol.

If you interested in doing anything more than the role playing aspects of medical play either find a mentor skilled in this area if you are a dominant or if a submissive only play with dominant who has a medical/nursing background and references who can verify their qualifications to do the invasive stuff.  Or use a professional dominant but be sure to ask about equipment sterility, safety aspects and infection control.  Just because the pro has a medical room does not automatically mean they are qualified to do all types of medical play.

lol cloudboy.....remember that no one should submit to Medical Play (or any BDSM) unless they really, really want to do it.  If its not great fun, just stop.

I do not know anyone who has physically enjoyed a saline infusion the way they enjoy, say, needles, but the thrill of saline is the (temporary) body modification.  And it looks amazing which makes it a good choice for public play/performances. Anyone else care to comment?

Medical does not need to be painful or scary, unless you want it that way (for the endorphn rush etc)

I know some that enjoy the "stern nurse" who finds out during a routine exam that a patient has been neglecting his health, and takes him over her knee for discipline.

And of course, lets not forget speculums. New and interesting (and humiliating) to the male, just mostly humiliating to the female. Needles, sutures, surgical staples, oh my! Wearing the embarrassingly revealing hospital gowns (I have two in my kit), the scent of alcohol all around.

And hey, what would happen if you were up on a table, knees up, and a nurse pulled up a white dress to reveal she had a strapon underneath it? Or you had been strapped down for a procedure, and the nurse or doctor then proceeded to take advantage of you?

What would you do if the "turn your head and cough" hernia check turned into being fucked with a doctor's fingers?

Medical play is infinitely variable and lots of fun, I have one entire toybox dedicated to it in my toy closet.

Just another idea, one thing we almost always check for are reflexes and responses.  Dress as the naughty nurse or doctor and try using an ace bandage to create a form of cock and ball torture.  Tie the bandage tightly around both cock and balls, gently at first then getting harder slap his cock with your hand.  Tell him you must check for a response.
