Oh no, it is something that you can learn. I was unable to do so for a very long time, but with practice and time I was able to without too much trouble.

I learned how to breathe, but sometimes I forget. I also have bad allergies about half of the year which makes breathing all by itself a problem. They have just had to get used to me stopping for a moment to breathe. It helps that I'm a swimmer and can hold my breath for a little over a minute.
