Looking for information on Edgeplay, any comments or discriptions of Edgeplay scenes anyone would like to share would be welcome.

Here's a little game I use to play as a kid. Blind fold a person and get a bowl. In the bowl place some ketchup, manyase, olive oil, tuna and such. Have the person stick his/her hand in it. See if they can guess what it is or ask them if they're sure it's not snot and shit.

I also remember another game called "Trust Me" you fall backwards and see if your friend will catch you.

Now start thinking a little more creativly after blind folding someone. Knife play, bug zappers, and such. See if they can guess what toy you are using on them. Basicly put the first two games together and add some kink. You'll both learn about limits sonner or later with this method.

Since edgeplay is in the eyes of the beholder, why don't you give us a little more to go on.

While fireplay is "edgy" to a newbie, it may seem quite mainstream for someone who's been around for 5 or 10 years.

What do you consider edgeplay?

And of course the degree to which you take any form of play can make it edgeplay.
Clothpins are basic, 100 pin clothspin zippers are edgeplay.

Ditto what Archer said. For me edgeplay is bloodsports, guns, breathplay, and any long term deeply intense mental fuckup.

But even a simple thing can be deeply intense with a certain person. One person might think nothing of an enema but it might be a huge edge for someone else.

Knife play is edge play for me, even if you just tell me you are going to use a knife but don't is enough to send me over the edge. The same is true for a gag, freaks me out every time.

However you can poke with me needles all night long and it's all good.

As said before, edgeplay is in the mind of the beholder.

While a lot of the things I like (e.g., knives, fire, electricity) can be considered edgy, what feels like edge play to me is doing something that is new and/or scary to the submissive to whom I'm doing it.

Not too long ago I gave a woman her first little "scene," where I bound and blindfolded her, and caressed her gently with fingertips, fingernails, a rabbit fur, vampire glove, and spiked rolling pin. That felt more edgy to me than using a knife and violet want on a sub who's felt them before and knows she loves it.

But there are varying definitions of edge play, so really the term needs to be defined every time it's used. E.g., I saw a demonstration once where the demonstrator insisted that puppy play was edge play. I couldn't quite see it that way, but I didn't have to - I wasn't playing with her. I was reading the rules online for a BDSM dungeon I hadn't been to, and it was required to notify a DM before engaging in any edge play. They defined edge play as anything involving knives, fire, needles, electricity, blood, or sex. I can honestly say I've never seen sex described as edge play, but to them it obviously was.

Sex in most clubs is pretty out there and edgy for most people. People in bdsm have the same hang-ups about sex that vanilla people do and seeing it openly in public in the same place as play is a pretty controversial thing.
