".......
AMY GOODMAN: We want to thank you very much for being with us. We've just lost the satellite to Houston. But we will certainly continue to follow this story.
I also want to talk about the hospitals that we contacted to ask for their comment. We called the VA Medical Center in Houston to invite them on the program. They declined our invitation......"

this transcript is a good read.

It isnt just Bush who is at fault, it is also the House and Senate.  Thay all have to approve the spending and budget.  Also the House ans Senate seem to find ways to force things through the way they want them, either by overriding a veto, or by including cuts or pork into vital bills that have to be signed.
You may not like it, but the all share the blame, as well as the budget/money juggling military leaders.  Rhet as well seem to find ways to move money, from one pocket to another, to get get what they think is most important.

hey doug, true.

we tend to be shortsighted indeed.

i have seen housing projects in better shape the Reed.

can any lawmaker with a str8 face say "we did not know there would be a need"- when the war is now in year 4?

spin it all you want. i HATE this war- but I thank all who served. at 20- to be washed up..... 20,000 of the vets.  thats 4 of the towns i live in.

instead of $8000.00 toilet seats at Halliburton, get a fricken extrerminator in- to rid to rodents. get some plaster repair.

this is becoming more embarrassing/SICK  then katrina.

I can see that happen.  Year's ago when I went to the VA...you could die just waiting to be seen.  Taught me quick that you don't go to the VA for anything at all.

Nothing has changed over the year's the only difference is with a 4 year war things are finally making the news.

I learned in the 70's not to go to the VA.   My family has been instructed to shoot me if the only other option is to go there.  The problem is an extremely old one.

Also the military has nothing to do with the budget for the VA.   They are in totally seperate departments of the government and to the best of my knowledge have always been seperate.

Very well could be.  I have no idea who is in charge of what.  I was in the military in the 80's and dealt with VA hospitals.  They were crap then.  All I know for certain is it is not a new problem...just a very old one nobody has ever dealt with.

And let's not forget that the first three words of the Constitution are "We the people." If we don't raise our voices and hold our leaders (of both parties) to account, we can't be surprised when stuff like this happens.

SHAME ON US! SHAME

I really object to this pahunkboy.

I did not vote for Monkeyboy.

I did vote Green and not for the mindless dolts who gave Monkeyboy power.

I never once supported going to war.

I never once supported Monkeyboy's attempts to dismantle the infrastructure in the United States to enrich his buddies.

I do not feel any shame for the actions of that ignorant and dim-witted nut job.

Please do not accuse me of being somehow responsible for the last 6 years or the depression we are heading in to trying to fix the problem.

Brett Farve is a veteran of the NFL...And he has often refused treatment or surgery until after the playoffs...And he never died!...Maybe people who live up north are just tougher....What was the question?
