Being in the industry, I prefer to see independants, because they are more interesting and to support them. That having been said, cookie cutter hotels are pretty much all the same in my books when it comes to hard factors (rooms, amenities), depending on the price range, and soft factors (service with a smile, atmosphere) really depend on which property you may be at at any given time. It also depends on if the hotel you're staying at is owned, managed, both, or neither by (insert company name). Hilton, for example, owns hotels under different names (such as the local Marriott) and runs hotels others own. Throw in franchises, and you have a giant mess. Yours, benji
