passmearound -> need help finding support group. (3/19/2007 8:33:21 AM)

hello everyone! i am not sure if this is the right spot for this question or not but here goes.  i need  help finding a support group for children of transgendered parents.  i have looked and have found alot for the transgendered themselves but none for the adult children.  Maybe someone reading this is one themselves, would definately like to chat if so......any info would be greatly appreciated!! thank You!

From a Google search, the following links have articles and resources.  There seems to be a lot of information out there.

You'll need Acrobat Reader for this first one (downloadable for free) but Page 2 has some resources:

PFLAG - Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays
may not be exactly what you are looking for, but the group is
well established and you should be able to find one nearby.
They would also be good for referrals to other local organizations.

I did some digging - these are all UK sites, but hopefully of some help

www.gender.org.uk/WOBSMatters
This is a site for families of TG people (the WOBS are the Women of the Beaumont Society - a TG group, and WOBS provides information and advice etc to the mainly female partners of TG people. Thats women as in genetic women by the way! There is an email access on the site as well as two phonelines to call for help and support. Put 44 for UK and drop the first 0 in the numbers listed, if youre calling from the US.

www.gires.org.uk - mainly a campaigning group, but lots of information that may be useful
www.mermaids.freeuk.com - this is mainly for TG children, but also may be useful in that it also offers help to children of TG parents

If you Google the Gender Trust in Brighton UK, you might also with their help be able to find similar US sites and sources; they have the best connections of any group I can think of.

Hope this is of some help.
