SilentHunter -> Male or female@ (3/20/2007 9:02:35 AM)

I have seen the profiles, and what have you, would you think that many Dominants male or female wouldrather have a female sub/slave, over a male sub/slave. I know that many more people have been bisexual, and openly shamlessly put it on their profiles but it seems to many that female submissive/slaves are less high maintance than their opposite male numbers. Why do you think this is?  Just your opinions please.

I think your stereotypes do not play out in reality.

LaTigresse -> RE: Male or female**** (3/20/2007 9:08:48 AM)

Oh good grief, I don't see female submissives/slaves as less high maintenance at all!! Anyone that might think that does not spend much time around women.

I just see it as a differenty type of maintenance. For the most part it has been my experience that men are more physically and visually needy whereas women are more communication and emotionally needy. Neither of which is a bad thing, just different.

SilentHunter -> RE: Male or female**** (3/20/2007 9:14:35 AM)

I was thinking more of what i read in the profiles, it seems many are just seeking female slaves, I will be happy to admit that what i used was wrong if that is the case, Personally i am not looking for anyone, male or females, I have the one i am with and i don't intend to cheat on her.

It was just a question that arrived in my big head (the one on my shoulders not ego) I am not attacking anyone, male or female, i just asked for opinions on the matter.

I would think that male or female sub / slave is just personal preference. If i was domme i'd probably be greedy and want both. Funny though because as a sub / slave i only want a Dom for 24/7. I'd play with a domme though.
I know that many more people have been bisexual, and openly shamlessly put it on their profiles
A little of topic but with the use of the word shamelessly im wondering if you think its something to be ashamed of?
it seems to many that female submissive/slaves are less high maintance than their opposite male numbers.
Who are theses people because i would have betted the opinion was the other way round?
Why do you think this is?
I try not to think it hurts [:D]
Perhaps this is because males seem sexual rather than service driven and think with their small head rather than the large one.
Huge sweeping statement there and unfair i think.

SilentHunter -> RE: Male or female@ (3/20/2007 9:17:01 AM)

Nope I was using it in the context that it used to be a shameful thing to put on any open profile years ago lol. I don't care if  the person is gay, bi, straight, its just their way, it floats their boat, and i have what floats mine.

SilentHunter -> RE: Male or female@ (3/20/2007 9:18:10 AM)

Agreed it was a wrong statement, i will withdraw it lol. i stand on my questions and i did ask for opinions, and i  got them.

MsKatHouston -> RE: Male or female**** (3/20/2007 9:19:36 AM)

There are high maintenance people.  Men and women.  I've encountered both.  I really have no idea whether more women or male subs are high maintenance.  There's really no way to prove it either, since "high maintenance" will be in the eye of the beholder.

I think there are likely more hetero male dominants looking for fem subs than other mixes (possibly) so that may be why you see more dominants in general looking for female slaves.

Ah i see. Sorry, just seemed a strange choice of word.

thetammyjo -> RE: Male or female@ (3/20/2007 9:24:14 AM)

I'm not actively looking for another slave in my household, merely open to the possiblity now. If I were actively looking we'd be attending a lot of kink events within a few hours of us.

In the past I have had female submissives and I liked our interactions, I'd be happy with another woman in my household too. But the personality, mutual interests, and similar philosophies are the most important thing for us.

But then again I do not personally associate all Ds with sexual interactions so it makes sense that sex of the person serving is not as important to me as it would be to someone who considers Ds to be more sexual.

I was thinking more of what i read in the profiles, it seems many are just seeking female slaves...

Keep in mind that what you see in many profiles may not indicate a prevailing attitude within the lifestyle, but rather a prevailing desire of a different group.  Things are not always what they are advertised to be, and that is doubly true of personal ads.

However, it strikes me as being plausible that there is more of a demand for female submissives given that there seem to be more male dominants than female, and many of those male dominants are heterosexual... so that there is a corresponding demand for female submissives does not seem surprising.  While the sexual aspect may not be the central focus, I've known few male dominants for whom it wasn't at least part of the equation.  Of the very few heterosexual male dominants I've known who would accept male submissives, they were all poly and had highly organized households (i.e. "Victorian/Edwardian" in style) where a male service submissive could find a role to fulfill.  On the whole, male submissives are not something I've observed most male dominants to be interested in.

sub4hire -> RE: Male or female@ (3/20/2007 10:49:03 AM)

I think some people are high maintenance.  Whether male, female or a trans...if they are high maintenance then they are.

BeachMystress -> RE: Male or female@ (3/20/2007 5:06:24 PM)

My personal feeling is that I prefer male subs to fem subs for service to myself. While I have had femsubs as play partners in the past, I've never desired an intimate/D/s relationship with them.

And high maintenence depends upon the person. It isn't bound by gender.

Devilslilsister -> RE: Male or female@ (3/20/2007 5:42:32 PM)

i think they're all just monkits........

and that is the issue here.  If you would stop and realise that you are dealing with monkits - IMO you would feel alot better.

i personally do not expect anything from a monkit other then to jump around, shoot arrows, and squawk when you kill them.  Once we all learn to be accepting of monkits, we really will get along better.

Celeste43 -> RE: Male or female**** (3/20/2007 5:46:44 PM)

What you get in the profiles here are mainly het male tops. Since they're het they don't want to have sex with other men. There also is a tendency for men to think that women having sex with each other won't threaten the m/f relationship whereas if the woman was having sex with another man then it would threaten the relationship.

That's a fallacy btw, anybody over 25 and most under have had enough bad relationships to know that you move on not because of the body but the person inside it. But straight males still believe it.

Anyway, the majority of relationships seen here are stright male tops. They get off on seeing two women at once. They want to have sex with two women at once. They want to see the two women have sex and since they're the tops, they only look for someone they would want.

Bi-male tops probably wouldn't view things this way but I'm not sure if there are any here. My personal experience with bi-males is that although they have sex with both genders, they prefer relationships with other males. If so, then they are probably on gay only boards.

I prefer male submissives.  I find them more direct,  their focus is on ME and not a number of  "needs"

Hello,

I dont know how much you have studied psychology and sociology, but people are notoriously bad at self-evaluation.

Some of these people are forced to evaluate themselves on a web site for BDSM.

I dont personally view profiles in order to determine sociological trends within the BDSM lifestyle.

Just me, etc.
