MasterODarkness -> The art of conversation (3/20/2007 2:29:50 PM)

I have seen way too many who expect a life stroy but furnish very little, then on top of that will not even reply with a "Thanks, but no thanks.  The art of conversation starts out slow and builds to find out more and those that do not believe this IMHO are nothing but players/wannabes.  It takes time and building trust to find out what someone is like, and even when a life history is given, as I said once again, they do not have the respect or values to even reply.
If you are here for just kinky sex, say it, why hide it, many seem to be.  If you are a wannabe/player, say it as many others here seem to be and you can connect with them.
For those of you here truly seeking another to share the lifestyle I urge you to make these that are not like U/us known to the admin and users alike.  Then maybe it will be a purely BDSM community and the players will move on.

welcome and good luck finding what you seek

Those are sage words, Master. But if players and imposters are
something you [quite rightly] dislike, this place could prove to
be quite a challenge. Good luck in your search.

Good luck, though you are going to find that to some, the art of conversation isnt important.  On here, at the very least, the idea is to meet.  Then the elongated conversations are carried out elsewhere.  There are all kinds here, some looking for a quick fix, some loking for a life mate, and some looing for a weekend fling.  None of them are less entitled to be here, just maybe not looking for what you are.

Best of luck finding the long lost art.

Not necessarily for everyone.  I don't think that when I joined Collarme I realistically expected to ever meet up with someone offline...as it happened, I did.

Not necessarily to meet face to face, but to connect with someone. Then we take the conversations to somewhere else, be it phone or IMs or face to face. Email tag on CM is not the best way to carry on long conversations.

DiurnalVampire, MsKatHouston, bardtothebone,
I have found that like our government, if one sits by and lets others infringe, then all is lost or the way is very hard to navigate.  If we do not police oursekves, no one else will as they wish us to fail.  I can deal with much but would also like the help of others in dealing with this as it makes it easier, quicker and shows what we stand for, safe, sane and consensual.  Too many are hurt and leave the lifestyle because of the wannabe/players who prey upon us and this is very sad.  If not us then who will draw that line and stop this infestation.

Oh boy, another one hit whiner here to save us from those who aren't "real."

Good luck, you're gonna need it.
