Since Inhofe couldn't be bothered to listen to Gores answers to his questions, perhaps he's not really interested in them?

What special interest groups pockets  is Sen. James Inhofe, R-Oklahoma in?

What does he really know and why is he afraid of the truth?

He does know that the world is not flat right?

Have no fear, I have no false illusions as to any feminine allure you might be trying to ascribe to me (even if for negative use).  I am just going to keep calling it like I see it, doll, so you can take that for what it's worth.

But as the prophet of global warming, a bit disingenuous, don't you think?

I guess that is why he started over 30 years ago trying to convince people of what is now happening right?

By the way - should there be an uproar over Ex Vice President Gore's testimony stating that that the theory of global warming is unanimous among all science and scientists? Is that a "lie" or the use of "literary license"? Was he testifying as a documentary film maker or a ex government official? He couldn't be testifying as an "expert" since he has no degree in global weather prediction, or even an advocate since he personally consumes and contributes 10 times the annual energy and carbon emissions than us mere mortal citizens of the US.

By all means let's have Gore testify and respond under oath...meanwhile while some debate the earth is fine and another generation will pay for the ignorance of their money grubbing special interest  "leaders".

Ever notice lately how big biz is ruining so many things under the guise of the Bush administration...

Merc, I watched part of Reverand Al's "testimony" before that commission.
After watching him I wanted to take a shower!

How much of the 4 hour testimony did you consider a "part" to watch?

Did you see it on CSPAN or was it merely a soundbite with local commentary?

People see what they want to see and rationalize absolutes on both sides. If they can prove in their model that global warming and cooling isn't cyclical by explaining how Greenland was once free of ice and GREEN, how northern England was once a better wine growing region than Italy, and all the other fluctuations in temperature occurred in relatively recent history, without modern human intervention - I'll accept this theory as better prediction of fact.

Yes the earth has been both warmer and colder than it is now. And it can be difficult to untangle our contributions from the natural cycles. But that doesn't matter, just because it is a natural cycle doesn't make it good. For example, if we go back to making wine in England rather than Italy, can you imagine how much it would cost to transport Italy's wine industry to England? Then add in all the other shifts and relocations such a climate shift would require. Wouldn't it make sense to spend just a fraction of that cost in pushing our climate to go the way that is most convienient for us? We have no problem damming rivers and setting up dikes, its not like nature is untouchable. We just need to remember we do depend on nature to keep ourselves alive, so it is in our interests to keep it healthy. But tending it may very well be better than letting it run wild.

quote:

Until then I see it for what it is. A source of income and industry for those on the front lines supported by head bobbers who only read and belief people and positions that support their positions.

Just because there is a scam involving the Broklyn Bridge doesn't mean it does not exist. Likewise the presence of scams around global warming doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Not at all.  Exalted, true, but only to my treasure, and the people I value.

"Proper, upright, and 'taker of the high road', sometimes true, but it depends on the person and the situation.  I've learned that it's normally better to be "proper, upright, and 'taker of the high road', but sometimes, getting dirty and downright insulting is the only thing that gets some people's attention.

Perhaps you are just jealous that I can get my point across without always calling names?

Hi popeye,
I understood that you are still the opinion that there is no global warming, hope I misunderstood.
For me it is an fact. It is an fact that the storms all over the world grow in numbers, and in there strength. It is a fact that the temperature rises, that the ices melt and so on.
And even when some ppl are still in doubt, please know and make your decission on the following in case it is so, it can not been turned,
Do not let us discuss about whether it is an fact or not. Do as it would be a fact, where is the problem, try in your place to reduce pollution as much as you can.
Do not wait for the politician. DO not follow them in all. Did they not sent your best friends to Iraque, and can not tell you how to bring them home.

Thank you for the link.

However, it doesn't support your claim.

First, your source is a biased source (a "progressive" website), and the video doesn't match the caption.  In fact, the video is an interview with Inhofe about global warming, and contains nothing that is in the written material.

*shrugs*

Perhaps a simple error on the site's part.  But your cite doesn't support your claim.

I am particularly interested in his context, if he said such remarks.  Context - like  possible bias - is something you evaluate when you are trying to determine the accuracy of someone's claims.

Another issue of which you should be aware: in a debate or discussion, when someone advances a claim of fact, the onus is on that person to support it, not on the person challenging it.

This isn't something that I just dreamed up to make your life difficult.  It is a method to ensure that people making claims have some basis to their claims.

As for my "claims' of you using your feminity - well, you did it again in this post with your diminutive "doll" comment.  It's the second time you've used such a term of endearment on me.  Doesn't bother me, but, if I had used such terms on you, you would have been all up in arms about me (as a man) condescending to you.

In other words, it's something a woman can get away with, but that a man can't.

So ... yes, you are continuing to use the fact that you are a woman against me, and in support of yourself.

Perhaps you don't recognize that.  I do.

Deal with it.

1.  Calling me her "shadow" and then her "stalker".

2.  Using the term "doll" for me when she is obviously doesn't have feelings of amity towards me.

Do I need to explain them in detail as well, Ron?
