You need to find the profile in question and contact support. Then follow their instructions.

azzmaster -> RE: someone is claiming to be me and using my pic (3/22/2007 10:04:21 PM)

thats real common, what alot of people do is either hold a sign with their screenname or put some script identifying themselves across the bottom... its quite a pic, i m not surprised

Stupid people..They should be using you, not your picture..

sub4hire -> RE: someone is claiming to be me and using my pic (3/23/2007 7:13:16 AM)

Here contact support.
In the real world.  I have no idea.  Notify the authorities, but they never do anything.  I even own a copyright
on some of my work and am still having issues getting the authorites to do anything.
People have stolen my name for years.  Not a clue.  Some have even been brazen enough to confront
me telling me I was using their name.
The most advice I can offer is...notify everyone you can think of then notify them again.

LadyEllen -> RE: someone is claiming to be me and using my pic (3/23/2007 7:30:06 AM)

Copyright theft is a criminal offence in the US? Its a civil matter here in UK - and it costs hundreds of thousands of pounds to take to court, so the likes of me has no chance of protection.

Not that its a problem for me; far too ugly for anyone to bother stealing my pics!

That's a very good idea.

I had something like this happen years ago on yahoo. Some one got my photo album from yahoo and used it as their own. I called them on it and it was removed.

To me it wasn't that big of a deal. The important people knew the truth and at the end of the day it was just pictures. Of course, stealing is stealing.

SilentHunter -> RE: someone is claiming to be me and using my pic (3/23/2007 7:49:14 AM)

Ellen you are anything but, the person that told you that deserves their bits chopping off, men and women lmao.

Edited for stupid fingers yet again.

SilentHunter -> RE: someone is claiming to be me and using my pic (3/23/2007 7:50:25 AM)

There are ways to watermark your work, just need a PSP, or photoshop something like that, there are plenty of tutorials like that out there.

Edited to remove the things stupid fingers typed.

all i can say is, if anyone impersonates me...they're in for a downfall... afterall...it took IRC for me to be able to finally find someone who would be real enough to take the time to meet me in the real world...i wish those posers luck...LOL

This "I'm unworthy, I'm ugly, I'm {insert negative comment here}" attitude you have is getting old

Of all the people a person could meet, at most 4 in 20 are someone that a person would socialize with by choice (co-workers, gym-buddies, parents of your ums friends, etc. are not by choice).  Of those 4, 3 aren't someone a person would consider a LTR with for various reasons.  The one person out of that group that may be a match for someone may not be able to handle a LTR for any number of reasons - good or bad.

So, finding Mr. or Mrs. Right isn't a done-deal.  Sometimes it's takes years and when you think you've found them; then they may turn out to not really be them.

Some people are lucky and are able to find their match(es) quickly and often (bastards ... er, sorry ... I digressed) - but most people aren't.

Life's not easy and that's just the way things are.  You seem to be very well liked by just about everyone; that sure beats me (to the Dommes that are now salivating, I didn't say "beat me" ;-)  I'm a nice guy, just not that popular.

Of course, if I could lick my own eyebrows, I'd probably be a lot more popular - but alas, fate has left me short (yes, pun is intended in every way one can imagine)

If you didn't have standards, then you'd probably have better luck finding someone - but why would you lower yourself by not having high standards?  (rhetorical)

That special someone is out there - but they don't show up when you want; they'll show up when it's time for them to show up.

In the meantime - stop being so damn hard on yourself.  (to the wankers, don't read anything sorted into that)

And yes, this subbie-wannabe ripped a Domme a new one - so let the flames begin

LadyEllen -> RE: someone is claiming to be me and using my pic (3/23/2007 9:26:02 AM)

It was a joking comment TGD! British self deprecation you know? If one says something positive about onesself here, one is seen to be big headed, so one doesnt generally, and if one does or someone else does, then it has to be qualified with a "yes, but (insert self deprecation)". Same with everything here - say something positive, but then qualify it with something negative - "hooray, I won the lottery", "yes, but money doesnt bring happiness" for example, or "lovely weather", "yes, but its a little windy".

I know I'm not too bad for nearly 40 and given my origins, OK? There's plenty of genetic women my age who dont look anywhere as good as me, and quite a few poor women who look like me!

All good advice, I would try to get proof. Ask the person who wrote you for the person’s ID and write them, they will probably just disappear.

A little devils advocate here, I had a couple of men when I was searching use that line on me to try to get me to send more pictures or talk to them right away on the phone. Kinds of liar’s game of show me you are not fake and you are sincere.

If the pic on your avatar was showing off your tits this would have never happened...Just a word to the wise.

This you can do to protect who owns the original pic and it's original source, but, and any PSP user would know that it is pretty simple to erase any watermarks, names across the bottom and/or copy right marks.

I would go with contacting the sites support or moderators.

Good Luck! Missy.
