I feel for them then, as they are culturally deprived. ;)

On a serious note, age is a factor in that  people closer to my own age will have the same life goals/be at the same stage in life.  I generally will go 10+ or 5-, though I tend to prefer older.

Maturity is a big deal for me, as even beyond the sexual, I have to be intellectually/emotionally compatible and be able to hold a conversation, you know?  There's only so much sex one can have before one starts to chafe, even with additional lube! :D

Especially the younger members who are just getting into the lifestyle. Don't they realize that an older partner is more likely to have a lot more experience and could train them better and then release them to find whomever they want. What is really rediculous is when you email someone to say good luck or congratulations and they do not even read it because you are of the wrong sex for them or you are too old for them. They miss out on positive emails that way and why?

i will respond to all emails sent to me. My main reason why i'm not into older Doms is from my past and the issue of trusting older Doms. Also i don't want to submit to someone who could and looks like they could be my dad, for some reason i can't fanthom that idea. But again that's just me

I love older men and the personal experience they bring. A younger one may not have the experience I need or want. :)

I have to admit that age does have some importance to me, and I also look for someone around my age.  Personally, I have a hard time relating to someone in their twenties and early thirties.  It has been my experience (and this is not meant to mean it would be this way with all of those in that age bracket) that I am simply not "cool" enough....laughing.  I hate the term "Dude", the music confuses me, and they always want to meet at Starbucks.  Did I mention I have never once drank coffee?

As for older, the Dom I was married to for a number of years was 13 years older than me.  I was 23 when we met.

However, and again this is me personally, it does bother me if I can relate or equate someone to my Dad in any way, whether in age, looks, experiences, attitude.  My Dad is an amazing man and I adore him, so it is nothing negative. Nor have I ever fantasized about him.  Ick!  I do like to role play Daddy/daughter, though not on a constant basis.  But the idea of someone "like" my Dad?  It's just not for me.

As far as experience goes, I believe it is more of a matter of attitudge, maturity level, and understanding of oneself.  I have met men older than me who have been big babies.

Then again, the ones who have all that and years of actual experience in the lifestyle....wow......look out, girls!
