Forget about the Illegals lets concentrate on the true plague of this nation which is "the elderly equation."

We could save Medicaid as well as befuttle the enemy by having our cogitively impaired aimlessly wandering the Sunni Triangle.

No offense intended, but articles like this make me think twice about Salon as a news source.

In the University I attend, if you would have presented this information, without pointing out that in the American Civil War, entire brigades were made up of paroled convicts ... you would have been accused of incomplete, second rate research and promptly been given a low grade. If were lucky, the prof., might allow you to admit that you are stupid blonde fuckup, and give you a chance to rewrite the paper.

I can't quite figure if you are mad at Ven for posting it or made at the source for writing it?

Well, your professor is an ignorant dick then, and would be straining at gnats instead of considering the whales (and you are not a ditzy blonde, btw)  since the point of the thread is that the services are not making recruiting goals, and this is one more sign of the desperate straits we find ourselves now contemplating.

Had he pointed out that as always, when these waivers are instituted, as opposed to the quiet and illegal acts of cops and judges that something more than a general malaise is in the offing.

I'm not mad at anyone.

But, if I was an editor at Salon, that was even attempting to be acurate and complete, I would fire the person that wrote this article.

I'm sorry Ron, but I just don't agree.

Writing an an article concerning the lowering of recruiting standards, without even mentioning that the United States has nearly always done this in times of need ... is just incomplete, and poorly done work.

Here are a couple of articles about not meeting recruitement goals and admitting those less than desirable.

It's no fun reading those....But a complete company of Down Syndrome soldiers the elderly and the disoriented would be quite a sight.

But you are a pretty good thinker, and a funny poster, most of the time.  I don't take things personal, Ron, even if  I'm hitting back hard.  We are both men, and used to whacking other men upside the head in that "half in jest, half in seriousness" way that men do.

It's enjoyable crossing swords.

At least it would give us the opportunity to repaint the White House and put new carpetting in a lot of Republican congressperson's offices.

Damn cait!

You are just too damn smart to be on the wrong side of the political equation!

I was working on a stealth attack on the post, but you hit it head on!

Kudos.

If I set up a foundation to fight against bias and stupidity, could I get you to be part of it?

I'd still like to know the underlying rational of why Ven posted this story.

no, stated in that fashion, I believe we are in concert.  No disagreement with that whatsoever, they also did it in desperate times in all the other mother of all wars that we have been involved in, but how deep does that well run?  Would you then have to comment that the US Government made deals with such as Lucky Luciano and so on, I mean where does it quit, but to mention in desperate times would be the case.

I have no problem with Vendaval, or anyone else posting this story. She is anti-war, and that is her right. I was simply pointing out that you would get crushed if you submitted something like that, where I go to school. It's not inaccurate, but is very incomplete.

I expect to be a college prof., some day, and if a student presented this to me, I would probably laugh them out of my class. So tell your grand kids ... don't take my classes ... because I'm a hard-ass.

Caitlyn is a pretty sharp cookie and she would be perfect if I could get a few messages with a tit shot....Don't want to discriminate so I would welcome a "cock shot" from Firm or his brother Stern...Hand..as well.

I'm afraid that there isn't a camera that has a wide-angle enough focus to get a complete "cock shot" of mine, domi.

Ya know the story ... not only is it a long way down to the water .... the water is cold, as well.

in keeping the line of discourse on another thread, that the opinions of talking heads opinions do not qualify as fact, nor do the PR statements of the military, including those that claim to be awash in enlistments and poo poo the notion that they are in a dire situation. And everyone in support of this has fucked up tragically.
