First, it would enable them to make some important modifications. We really need better search options here. For example, I'd add the following options when searching for profiles: I am sure that if the powers that be felt the changes you desire were going to improve the site, they would do such. However, I am also sure that CM is not anxious to be another Alt, B or AFF. I think you are under the misimpression that CM is a "free" site... that they don't pay their employees to run the site - this is not the case. If you will notice, they solicit and run numerous paid ads on this site which allow them to keep the site free for their users, but help pay the light bill (as the case may be). quote:
- Are you here to meet someone for: a) Lifestyle relationship, b) professional clients, or c) just chat? I have a hard enough time getting people (ESPECIALLY on Alt) to read my profile and see that I am happily taken. I am not sure that this modification would help in the least. quote:
These search options will better ensure that a Dominant women who, for example, wants only to chat, doesn't get mail from a man who wants a lifetime relationship, since these issues seem to be a source of such heartburn for so many people, reading their profiles. I think you would be hard-pressed to find any site that will filter email that completely. I haven't seen a single "pay" site that is that granular in their email filtering process. quote:
Also: let's face it, having to make a small payment gets rid of (most) trolls. It ensures that serious, committed people sign up. And it also keeps the cheap pro's from using this site as a free ad. I completely agree with the others that have said this is not going to be the case. And a definition of "trolls" would be helpful. Your "troll" might be another's dream person... quote:
On paid sites, like Alt, I don't see the anger and bitterness in Dominant womens' profiles, as I see here. The reason? Alt is a paid site; therefore, the "unwashed masses" can't slam someone with endless mail (which is what seems to cause all the anger in their profiles and journals). This smacks of serious eliteism. The "unwashed masses" have just as much right to be on this site as you do. What gives you the right to "choose" who should and should not be on the site. If you will notice -- there are many of the CM members on Alt, B and AFF. Are they "unwashed masses" there too? Or, by some miracle of faith, because they are able to "pay" to post there, they are now a member of your club. Though I am usually a proponent of "you get what you pay for," I have to say, happily, that CM is one of those sites that I have been very happy with. I don't agree with your assessment that your points are valid. Everyone has their opinion about this, as is evident, and mine is that CM is just fine the way it is. In truthfulness, if you are *that* unhappy with CM -- for heaven's sakes, why are you here? Please forgive the rant -- but it would seem that I get a little frustrated with people that don't *think* before they speak. It's one thing to want to elicit conversation, it's another to insult other people without provocation. I actually feel like alt is nothing more than a glorified meat market. Most people in there are not seriously into BDSM. Most men I have spoken to in there in the past two years (more than 85%any way) are brand new to the concept and are looking for fuck buddies, not subs. They think because we're submissive it means it's easier to get us to screw them than a non submissive woman. In two years in alt I've met 2 friends. In my 2 years in here I've met about 20. These are the people I've seen face to face with my own eyes, not just cyber buddies. I find collarme is WAY more seriously about a community of BDSM participants. I find alt is mostly guys sitting with their dick in hand hoping to stick it in someone. Leave collarme as is I say. I love it here. If you want better search capacities I'd recommend yo making folders for people who are important to you in Microsoft word to keep their messages accessible to you for reviewing. There are lots of ways to take the search and store responsibilities on yourself instead of expecting everyone to change what they enjoy for you. You can always go to those pay sites that already exist ya know. We won't stop you, suzanne
