I also want to mention that we have been married for 17 years, and it is this lifestyle that is new. We are both trying to find new interests within our marriage.

You've been married for 17 years, trying out BDSM together, trying scenes and you don't know what BDSM experience he has? That's a bit... odd. To put it lightly.

Hell almost 10 years with Elegant and I still have bad scenes happen every so often. If your scenes never go wrong you are playing at too safe a level for the growth I seek. (You're not aiming high enough, if you don't fail every once in awhile).

But you asked for opinions as to how long it takes to develop a GOOD Master/slave relationship, all I can say is the best ones I have seen and spent time around have been no less than 3 years together as M/s. I really don't even evaluate if someone elses relationship is good or not until they get to the 1-2 year point because I figure they really have not gotten their relationship figured out until that point.

But that's just my personal thoughts on the matter

I also find it odd that after 17 yrs, she can't trust him to know her after because of one bad scene.
