WyrdRich -> If you had to (3/24/2007 9:32:26 PM)

I was polled this afternoon (no, not that kind).  About 15 minutes on the phone with a fairly humorless woman, talking politics, filling out their checklist.  Are you, "very satisfied, somewhat satisfied, dissatisfied," and a bunch of yes/no or a/b.  As a few of you here might have noticed, my opinions run a bit stranger than that, but I played along.  I'll let their analysts figure out the contradictions.

One of those contradictions was that I absolutely would not vote for Hillary Clinton, and that between Newt Gingrich and her, I'd vote Hillary.

Got me wondering, who on the OTHER side would you vote for if you didn't have a choice?  Just for the sake of the hypothetical, voting an alternate/protest candidate is out.  Any declared or potential candidate of the other side.

I'll probably be volunteering some time to the Giuliani campaign, but if I had to, I'd vote for Hillary because I think she can win a war if she has to.

I'd vote for Satan before I would vote for Hillary (yes, satan is running for the GOP candidacy, and the left are still saying he is better than Bush... I would agree[:D], at least Satan has a high IQ and knows English)

If I had to pick a Republican, I think I'd go for Giuliani.

Sinergy -> RE: If you had to (3/24/2007 9:48:52 PM)

Since there is no retard running for Dumbfuckistan to elect, I will probably vote Green again.

Unless Gore is running.  I might vote for him.  Since Gore fired his image consultants who tried to
teach him that the US public wants a man with a pickle up his arse in the white house, he almost
acts human and intelligent now.

As I stated before, I cannot put my finger on my dislike of Hillary.

Sinergy

Well, I'm neither Dem or Rep.
The only ones I see so far that I like would be Mitt Romney, Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul of course.
In the Constitutional Party I don't think they have any announced candidates yet.
For the Dems I don't see anyone I'd vote for.
I've never liked Hillary Clinton and that other guy is too obscure.

Perhaps it is her willingness to move anywhere she could get elected

Or perhaps it is that she will change her position on any issue that might keep her from getting elected

Or perhaps it is her willingness to run away from her support of a war that she still supports, although she says she does not support it.

So what is it about the right that fills you with such, dare I say, 'hate', that you would rather cast a vote to the Christian personification of pure evil, than a single living person of the Republican persuasion?

No, I would vote for Satan before i would vote for Hillary... keep it straight

Edited to add, Satan has something very dark and bad boy about him. He might beat out most of the dems for my vote too... think I could write him in?[:D]

FangsNfeet -> RE: If you had to (3/24/2007 10:22:22 PM)

When it comes to a vote, I vote for the lesser of the two evils. I can see myself voting for Hillary if she is less evil than her opponent.

I thought she said she'd choose Satan over Hillary. Mrs. C. is many things, but few people describe her as right-wing.

Actually it was a slam at Hillary and all the Republicans too... you know.. two birds, one stone...smiles

caitlyn -> RE: If you had to (3/24/2007 10:27:28 PM)

I would vote for John McCain, on the other side.

Ron Paul is technically on the other side, but not really. I obviously like him, as I worked for his campaign.

But the question was, 'who would you vote FOR.'

dcnovice -> RE: If you had to (3/24/2007 10:28:58 PM)

Need to admit ignorance and ask who Ron Paul is.

Never mind: I just Googled him.

The entire focus of the OP was who you would vote against, not for. Look at it this way, you are focusing on being propelled to vote for someone because someone else repulses you.... In your case you are so repulsed by Newt you would vote Hillary

Personally I would vote for Pat Buchanan before I would vote for either. But he is not running this time

Perhaps you should re-read the OP...  I'm just getting more curious by the minute though.  What is it about Republicans, that you can't find even one you think would be a good leader of this country?

Allow me to re-state for absolute clarity, if you had only two candidates on your ballot (Dem/Repub), and the one representing your usual party preference was completely unacceptable to you, which candidate from the other side would you be willing to vote for?

juliaoceania -> RE: If you had to (3/24/2007 10:44:47 PM)

Ron Paul is a good paleoconservative.

I have the same opinion about the vast majority of Democrats Rich.. it is not a partisan position.

You know, it has only been since Al Gore demonstrated that he has a brain in his speech right before we invaded Iraq that I realized how truly tragic it was he lost in court. Most of the democrats running have nothing coming from me either.

I am consistent if nothing else. I do not support candidates that signed the Iraq Resolution.. period end of story

On more reflection, I am not a democrat, there is no other side for me, so basically I should not have answered the OP... sorry about that

If either the republicans or the democrats offer someone that will pull out of Iraq if elected I will vote for them. If not I will probably vote for the Green candidate

MistressMoirae -> RE: If you had to (3/24/2007 11:05:28 PM)

Well, if I was forced to vote Democratic [sm=idea.gif], I would have to say Barack Obama.  I do not know much about him, but he seems to have more character than Hillary.
This post brings to mind, the appreciation that I would not be forced in this country and am grateful for the freedom to vote for whomever I choose.  Whether it be Republican, Independent, or even myself (lol).  [sm=preen.gif]
