well now, THIS IS an interesting post. I was raised in the lifestyle, both here in the US and abroad, BDSM is a long standing family tradition, often scorned and reviled, but maintained, instructed, taught and refined along our family tree from one generation to the next for several hundred years. Our family's European ancestors introduced and then passed down protocol, training, and techniques to all of their children and grandchildren. Some of those progeny rejected it outright, others embraced it, so that several branches of our family on both sides of the big pond remained active in the lifestyle as generations passed. I won't argue the potential ramifications on the generations that followed in their predecessors footsteps; I can only understand My role in the process from My own perspective and address it from that viewpoint. So, My response will very likely be different than most of those who have only 'recently' discovered BDSM through their own exploration and interest. I have been a trained Dominatrix from the tender age of 17, after spending 8 years in formal training as an apprentice to a renowned European Domme. (Yes, that means I began formal training at age 9; it was a European tradition, deal with it, I have.) Madame's clientele included titled and landed gentry from across the globe, and at 17 I was 'given' the least of these several submissive males as My own, to do with as I pleased. Heady stuff, that. Among the 6 mature male subs who served me from the age of 17 until I was 21, two stand out as amazing and exemplary subs, one a full time slave in attendance 24/7, the other a submissive with a family and life of his own apart from his BDSM activities. (All of My subs/slaves at that time were more than 30 years My senior, which is probably why I have always been attracted to older men throughout most of My life. ) That full time slave and the part time submissive set the standard by which I evaluate any sub's service to this day, and trust Me, they set the bar pretty high. They each played different roles in My 'life', and since that time My lifelong dream has been to one day find a single male sub/slave who would be comprised of the most outstanding attributes of each of those men. From 21 through my late 20's, I probably met, sessioned, and actively worked with over 200 sub males here in the US, one of whom I later married. Of those 200, only one, other than My first husband, stands out in My memory as the kind of high protocol, well trained service oriented submissive I was raised to expect to have serve My needs. After My divorce I left the lifestyle and stayed away for about 10 years, disappointed in the sordid, crass, vulgar and unsophisticated 'parody' of BDSM group activities that I encountered here in the US at the time - pre-internet, old school, I had much higher expectations of a sub than I could hope to find on this side of the Ocean. Since returning to the lifestyle in My late 30's, it has been My great good fortune to be involved with two outstanding long term submissives, neither a full time sub. They each went their separate ways over the years, because life has a way of 'getting in the way', but I will always remember their service to Me with tenderness, love and affection. Today I am proud to say that I may have found My one, time will tell. So, counting back, thinking back, digging up 'bones' and revisiting memories over the years, I think I can safely say there have been about 225 to 230 subs I have been involved with over the decades. In those thirty years, 6 have been truly great subs/slaves (depending on their role) with whom I was deeply involved, whom I adored and cherished, each in a different way, and of whom I hoped to one day find something of their service in a r/t partner one day. Perhaps I have finally met him. He would be My lucky number 7. ; ) I think I'll name him 7 of 227. heh heh heh Marvelous post, thanks for the memories! TexasMaam
