Not really in your list, but never mind! This was back when I was 17 in college. Nerd of nerds, geek of geeks, unpopular, excluded and so normal I was possibly used as a measure whereby to gauge how rebellious the rest were. My mom still cut my hair in those days, and was mighty pissed that I had refused two cuts since January. We broke up for summer in mid July, by which time I was sporting the longest hair I ever had - right down my neck, and in its natural dark brown colour which went well with my pale skin! We returned to college in September. No one could believe it, some didnt recognise me. My hair was now down to my shoulders and coloured blonde. Ridiculous, but it made me suddenly really cool, popular and included, whilst the teaching staff singled me out as a trouble maker from that day on for the whole year! I loved my long hair. I cried when I had to get it cut short to go to work - at age 19, I cried over it - as well as having to ditch my jeans and t shirt for a suit and tie. Words cannot express how glad I am now to have my long hair again, and to never have to wear a tie ever again! (I actually gave away most of my old clothes, but I kept the ties just to watch them burn LOL!). And as an added bonus, the HRT has lightened my hair to near the colour it was at college! Not sure I'm cool anymore though, being nearly 40. E
