millimon -> all empty profiles? (4/11/2005 12:18:08 AM)

I'll introduce myself with a rant:

It seems like 11 out of 10 profiles are totally blank. I do see a few with info in them so it's not just the browser. That makes it pretty hard to meet anyone.

Then I tried to add stuff and saw how much of a pain in the butt it was. A simple reply email got blanked three times because it didn't like what I wrote in some manner, but there is no error message or indication of what keyword should not be used.

It looks like it WOULD be an awesome site if things worked better. 72 hours is quite a wait for approval too.

// messages to read posts found buried elsewhere will be ignored.

// attention span on a webpage is shorter than the length of a commercial on prime time TV.

^_^

If you smiled at any of that, you might have something in common with me!

Actually, iwth the rate of new people comeing in to the rate of moderators to approve profiles 72 hours isn't overly exessively long it could take days n days and says when things get really really backed up

millimon,
Just curious. Is your attention span equally as short when trying to please your partner? :)

Edited portion. Just looked at your profile. Cute smile. [:D]

Wow, that's quite venomous. A set of self serving assumptions? Problems you wish to speak of? Externalizing? I'm not sure where you're headed with this. "Cute smile" doesn't quite even it out. You're invited to wipe that one clean and try again.

Thanks.

That's cool that you've got so much interest. I suggest that for people who are already past vanilla stage, you waive moderating requirements on changes to their profile and such, and just keep an eye out for complaints. I'd be the first to let you know if I saw spamming.

Web Robots don't usually last more than a few days consistantly online because they are generally abusing someone's terms of service, or otherwise unpopular enough to attract counter-attention. If someone's posting for more than a few weeks they're probably human.

Does that help? The long turn around really will drive away users. I only arrived at this site a second time by complete accident. I misclicked a link in my web-mail.

On second glance, it could be something, so I'll hang around a while.

Thanks! I have been, and will.

StrictMaster31 -> RE: all empty profiles? (4/13/2005 6:25:08 AM)

I understand the frustration, however, even if a persons profile is listed as "pending", you can still email them and say hello. Now, if you can't just begin by being friendly and saying hello and you just "Need to know" what the person looks like and what they are looking for, then this might be an exercise in your patience, which also is a good skill to have in this lifestyle. If you can't accept that, well sounds like you are s%$t out of luck and you might as well move on to the next site you can find in your search for immediate gratification [:@]

lol

I think that she was kidding, hence the little smiley face.

As far as how long it takes and getting rid of the moderation process. It is there for a reason and I really appreciate it, the mods work hard and get things done as quickly as they can.

Who would decide who is "beyond the vanilla stage"? Would that be up to the mods? Would it be based on years of experience (as reported by the user)? How exactly would that work?

I suggest you simply work on your patience and wait. Or do what StrictMaster31 suggested and just say "hello"

millimon -> RE: all empty profiles? (4/20/2005 7:09:42 AM)

" I think that she was kidding, hence the little smiley face. "

I don't think so. Being a bitch and then adding a smiley face doesn't equal kidding. That equates with just being rude and thinking that it's funny.

Can't handle criticism? Wow, lots of passive aggressives here who can't take it. I've only had a half dozen posts and already got someone asking me to go elsewhere. And preaching to me about patience! hahahahaha....

No really, that's pretty fucking funny.

Anyway. WAY TO GO. If I was unimpressed before, well the people here have certainly shown me! [huge wink]

I stand corrected. Or not. Figure it out.

So, about intelligence... all the responders have failed that litmus test. If your IQ is a square of the highest grade you've completed, please message me. If your IQ is a prime three digit number, please message me. If your IQ is a Theta of the number of non-fiction books you've read in the last year... well you get the point.

Moi.

millimon,

It would be a safe bet to assume that those who have little or nothing in their profiles are not looking. Some come here just to read the forum messages, not to meet people.
