CNN: "Family cites 'conspiracy' in Tillman death inquiry"

POSTED: 12:17 a.m. EDT, March 27, 2007

" WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The family of Cpl. Pat Tillman said Monday the Army investigation into the former NFL player's death by friendly fire in Afghanistan suggests a "conspiracy" and vowed to pursue a congressional investigation into how the death was handled.

Military officials had said earlier that nine officers, including four generals, will face "corrective action" for making critical mistakes in the aftermath of Tillman's death. "

I posted on this once before.....we've all heard of opening a ''can of worms'' - The Poor Tillman's are dealing with a ''can of liars''. These people care nothing about the average American serviceman ; they're just cannon fodder and useless eaters.

A few thoughts:

What is so friendly about "friendly fire?"

The Army dropped the ball... this has never happened before?

"Corrective action" is an inadequate term to use if there was gross negligence. How about "disciplinary action including possible court marshal?"

Sad to say but if it were not for the high profile of this case it would most likely be overlooked or quietly swept under the carpet.

Tillman is no less of a hero because he died by "friendly fire." He died in service to his country on foreign soil... I feel that might be forgotten in the midst of this controversy.

This happens in war. People die. It is tragic and sad and no amount of action taken by Congress can bring this young man back to life.

Not a damn thing.  It is just double-speak.

The Army dropped the ball... this has never happened before?

Yes, these situations have happened in the past and will
happen again.

Agreed

Sad to say but if it were not for the high profile of this case it would most likely be overlooked or quietly swept under the carpet.

Most likely that is the case

I hope not

This happens in war. People die. It is tragic and sad and no amount of action taken by Congress can bring this young man back to life.
