stormsfate -> Vocal or silent? (4/11/2005 7:18:41 PM)

So maybe this should be in the poll section, but I posted it here anyway. Taken from another thread on this topic, I'm curious as to how many of us prefer *not* to talk during play, sexual or otherwise, and how many like to talk?

For myself...I like to make noise, but conversation is usually beyond me. I don't want to have to think...I just want to feel. If I'm asked a question, most times it takes great effort to even form a coherent answer in my mind let alone try to verbalize it....lol. I think it is the hedonist in me that just likes to wallow in the sensation.

When it comes to bottoming, I prefer not to have to talk, unless its a specific humiliation aspect in which giving respones is PART of the intensity itself.

However, I enjoy being allowed to make noise.

I tend to speak an alien language during sex...not sure what it is and I don't think anyone has been able to decipher it yet...lol.

I tend to just make noise, nothing that really makes any sense.
I like my partner to make noise too, how else will I know if they are enjoying themselves?

Ditto. Having to speak totally takes me out of the moment and speaking at the "right" or .. actually wrong time seems to ruin the whole thing for me.

I talk... I'm Irish, its impossible to entirely shut me up! [:D] Usually I talk dirty or I will elaborate on what I'm about to do to her in very descriptive terms to build the anticipation further. Sometimes I will ask questions, I don't really expect more than a half mumbled answer and sometimes I answer my own questions... for example, "You like that don't you... you like what I'm doing to you.... of course you do, you're such a slut... you're my slut." That sort of thing. For me it adds a dimension to things.

Going to slip into my little psychologist mode, we just talked about this in my developmental class.
Men are visual and auditory thinkers, which is why they talk out loud to themselves and generally learn better when they see something.
Women are feeling and abstract thinkers. They tend to focus on physical feeling and think about what is going to come next.

This actually factors into my theory about scizophrenia, and if anyone really wants to hear it I will be happy to share, but I didn't want to totally change the topic of this thread.

It's a religious experience so...I speak in tongues!

CalliopePurple -> RE: Vocal or silent? (4/12/2005 5:50:21 PM)

Well, the last girl I was with casually had to keep asking if I was enjoying myself or not because I wasn't making much sound. I think that's answer enough. I'm not a loud person in anything I do.

*laughs* I sure wouldn't mind a Dom talking.. and in the past haven't minding a guy talking at all.. its just when I'm expected to answer thats where the problem lies.

I "played" with a Dom who didn't know me sexually very well and had me vocally count 1-5 and at 5 I was to cum. Was the hardest thing I think I've ever had to do. The moments right before I cum I tend to hold my breathe (which rules out talking in any way). I don't know why but I always have. It tends to freak out my partner at least the first time I do it, or if I hold it so long I pass out (which has happened btw). I've had some that I forgot to "warn" ahead of time, stop and shake me "Breathe, why aren't you breathing!!!!!!!!"

I would love to scream like a banshee but alas I am trained to be silent.

I have usually been encouraged to be vocal, at least with some kinds of sounds and that took a little conscious thought on my part to do that, but once I did, I liked it. I've always like my partner being vocal.

However, once I've gone deep, then I tend to be quiet and then really love hearing conversation like that...........

Play safe,

Communication is a wonderful thing. Yet again though, it's a personal issue where one can't really establish a "norm". Myself personally, I tend to vocalise during a scene to heighten tension.. and of course pleasure. [:)]

LOL I can totally relate...

My guess is that you hold your breath partly for the focus part- you're not distracted and so totally focusing on the building orgasm that breathing would interrupt that, and partly because holding your breath makes for a more intense orgasm, which is why so many get into breathplay or autoasphyxiation. You seem to have stumbled onto that by yourself!

*laughs* Actually one of my limits is breathplay...

My ex-Master and I used to joke about it. He'd say "Why should I torture her with it? She already does it to herself far worse than I would." He also accused me once or twice of turning blue, but I have a hard time believing that. [:D] And would whisper for me to "breathe" at odd times during the day, which of course would make me blush.

I'm not sure I'm focusing but it does make orgasms more intense. Most times I don't really realize I'm holding my breath. Of course, most times I can't say I'm even "there".. I seem to just get lost somewhere. I used to think it was the only way I could orgasm, but I've been forced not to do it and orgasmed anyway. I just prefer to hold my breath.

M ther is no way i can keep quiet i am not talking about talking i am talkint about cries, screams, moans whimpers., talking is beyond me.

sweetpettjenny -> RE: Vocal or silent? (4/13/2005 1:10:36 PM)

i myself am very quiet during a session. I am trying to focus on my Master and pleasing him. He always talked to me , although it was faint as he used earplugs quite often on me. Being with a sadist it took a tremendous amount of concentration to learn to focus through the pain to make it pleasurable, for both of us.

I love to make noises during play, but I am like you. I don't like to think about too much, just the feel, so I don't usually talk. My Master is trying to train me to talk, since he likes this, so I'm sure in time I will be talking!! I have been made to not make noise, and it is very hard.

srahfox -> RE: Vocal or silent? (4/14/2005 2:21:58 PM)

It took me a long time to 'come out of my shell' and let myself make noise, now it's horribly hard not to make some kind of noise. Master talks, and that's just fine with me really, but I simply can't. Well, if I really have to I can, but it pulls me out of my little place. Accually we got a little clicky frog that I hold to let him know I'm okay. He likes me to tell him when it's okay for the next blow and talking was almost impossible and nodding was too hard. The clicking worked, apparently he said he can tell the farther I get because it clicks twice. Once when I press it, once when I let go, he says the deeper I go the longer it takes me to let go.

uncollaredcandy -> RE: Vocal or silent? (4/14/2005 10:28:44 PM)

If I am really into it I can't help but making noise. But I've recently moved and I think I should learn to be quieter, because I can hear my neighbor sneeze at times. Just imanging what they have heard makes me blush.
