If you are a dominant do you allow your slave/submissive to call you by a petname other than the normal standards of the lifestyle or even the vanilla world, something that is silly or funny that others would laugh at if they heard and you would dare not mention in public.

If you are a slave or submissive do you have a silly petname for your dominant that they like but would find embarrassing away from the privacy of their own abode.

If you do not currently own or are not currently owned, have you ever done this, and if so, WHAT ARE SOME OF THESE SILLY NAMES?

JerseyKrissi72 -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 6:32:15 PM)

I don't see anything wrong with a silly pet name....my late Master use to call me his lil tater twat[8D]

RobertCloud -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 6:33:23 PM)

I will go first... since it is my poll...

At first I found it a little annoying but now I am endeared to it, I would never allow her to call me this name in public, but I love to see my text message in the morning that says "I love you _________" or hear her ask me "How is my _____________?"

I have grown to love hearing it from her lips, but I would surely punish her as fast as lightning were she to use it in public.

My little one calls me "Poohbear"

RobertCloud -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 6:34:52 PM)

Smiles to Krissi... Krissi, it is different when a Master or Dominant calls their slave or submissive a silly petname... it really is, but many find it disrespectful to allow it the otherway around...

pattayonacracker -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 6:37:59 PM)

awwwwwwwwwwwwww... Poohbear??
too sweet and yes i can understand why you say not in public and also why you find it endearing..it is sweet

personally i don't think i would ever call my Dominant by a cutsie pet name.. because He's not a cutsie kinda man

RobertCloud -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 10:05:46 PM)

Yeah... Her calling me Poohbear is heart warming, but there are still times it makes me cringe when I think about her accidentally doing it in front of a lifestyle group.... Shivvers...

Mikal -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 10:14:15 PM)

I've used 'Peachfuzz' as a pet name... no idea how it started (well, ya, I do, but I don't know why it stuck... meah), muffin (well, for my pooch *grins* but she's supposed to be submissive to me and listen... right?), and a few others that I can't think of.

Other s.o. have called me marshmallow, shnookums, flakie pastry, etc. But not in public [:)]

Passion357 -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 10:14:54 PM)

Master and I call each other weird pet names all the time. Like getting off the phone when he calls to say he is on his way home and my boyfriend needs to leave...I say "Bye cup-cake" And he laughs and says "Bye my little pump-kin"

Of course he recently started a new one. Know the movie The Libertine?
Master says "Speak to me of abduction...my little mouse."
And for the first 2 weeks EVERY time he said it I did this silly annoying squeal-giggle...

justplainjava -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 10:19:29 PM)

my ex master had a pet i called him mr butt head or SGT never sargent just SGT

darchChylde -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 10:27:10 PM)

is it just me or is this quiz a little too black and white?  i don't think i would call Ma'am by a pet name, but i don't see it as disrespectful if it's a term of endearment and not a diminutive; i think it depends on the specific relationship between Dominant and sub

ps, i've always personally hated pet names and nick names for myself, but if Ma'am decides She wants to call me one it's not my call... there's only one thing that She cannot call me, and that was my wife's name for me; it would bring up too much pain and the name is not Her's to use... She is not forbidden to use it, per se; but i could not be in such an intimate relationship with someone who doesn't respect that which is sacred to me

RobertCloud -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 11:24:58 PM)

darchChylde, I understand fully what you mean, and though I used the term PetName... it could as easily be a term of endearment and that is how I see the one my girl uses for me. It is all in your definition of the word...

Personally, I do not see it as diminuitive, it is her love for me that brought the phrase out, not her being a brat or her being disrespectful in anyway yet still it is a term that I love to hear from her lips in private or on the phone but in public I would not care to hear it.

It is the same as others I have heard in the past... lol... my mother used to call my father "Crooked Dick" though between the two of them it was very special and loving and precious you can imagine the shock and embarrassment when my great grandmother accidentally began to read one of my mother's letters to my father.

I did not mean to make it Black and White... by using the term PetNames.. but it could be Terms of Endearment as well.

bearincuffs -> RE: Silly Petnames or Terms of Endearment (3/28/2007 11:35:38 PM)

Personally I can't picture myself calling Master by a petname! To me it would be "right" or "proper" and I don't believe he would be inpressed with me doing so and chances are I would be repermanded if I did!
Yet he will sometimes refer to me as "his bear" as a petname but usually it's simply "slave."

darchChylde -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/28/2007 11:38:48 PM)

it wasn't the terminology that i saw as making it all absolute, but the phrasology... you jump from "i allow" and "i do this" to "i would never allow... it is disrespectful" to "i would never... it is disrespectful"

it lends it self to absolution with no middle ground, or gray area

like if i were a Dominant, i would not allow my submissive to use a petname with me, simply because i don't like them

likewise, as a submissive; i do not use a petname with Ma'am for the same reason... and i don't think She'd allow it... because it can be disrespectful

also, there was nothing wrong with your original title, and using the prase "terms of endearment" takes from the meaning... a term of endearment is usually thought of as terms such as Dear, Love, Sweetheart, Honey and Darling; which Ma'am uses with me, calling me Sweets[:D] (and i know many liberated women consider these affrontary diminutives, but one can get too picky); i feel that using these are based on the level of familiarity between the two, and i personally consider "Ma'am" to be a term of endearment, that i use to show my love and devotion to Her that earned it as Her due... but a pet name is usually something more personal and descriptive between the two parties

RobertCloud -> RE: Silly Petnames or Terms of Endearment (3/28/2007 11:44:37 PM)

I had wondered about that a little as well bear. If there would be a difference in the dynamics in a Male/male relationship versus a Male/female or a Female/male or a Female/female... I am curious as to how it pans out in the long run to see if there is a difference in the overall dynamics of each as well. I may run a separate poll later on that part of it.

As far as me.. I call my slave... babygirl or babydoll and it is not because we are in a Daddy/daughter relationship because we definitely are not. It is just she is precious to me and being rather petite I picture her as fragile... and delicate. I have no other sillier name than that yet, one may come along in time but for now that is all I call her other than occasionally I call her angel or precious, but they are all basic terms of endearment and nothing really silly.

After we actually meet, which happens in about two weeks, then perhaps that will change...

goodlittlegirl28 -> RE: Silly Petnames or Terms of Endearment (3/29/2007 4:23:57 AM)

i'm a nickname giver. makes no difference who you identify as. if we get along swimmingly, chances are i'm calling you something other than your name. i'm not talking fluffy fru-fru names, although those happen. it's all in good fun, in the dynamics of two people. some things are meant to be private, but does it make you less domly to be a cuddle bunny or a love bug or whatever you are?

RobertCloud -> RE: Silly Petnames or Terms of Endearment (3/29/2007 9:52:16 AM)

No problem at all darchChylde... I want all answers to be able to fit... so I was glad to find an answer you could reply to.

RobertCloud -> RE: Silly Petnames (3/29/2007 2:01:32 PM)

I really don't have a silly petname for my babygirl. This morning as I was text messaging her with a good morning message an idea popped in my head... She calls me "Poohbear" and what does "Poohbear" love more than anything in the world..... "HONEY"... and what do you always see him with his paw in... a "Honeypot."

So, I messaged her, "Good morning my honeypot..." lol... It was funny, and the reaction was adorable, but truth is... it does not really fit... and that is not really how petnames come up, they just sort of happen as they fit. One day one will arise for her and it will not be something that I have thought of, it will just happen... but the "honeypot" one was cute... I told her... "I want to get my hands on my honeypot awfully badly!"...

She laughed... I am glad we get along so very well... Only have had one misunderstanding since we began talking and that was from someone else saying something that was in error... and only one time have I gotten mad at her and that lasted for a very short time, nothing serious and easily corrected. For being together for 2 months and talking a minimum of 4 hours a day, sometimes as much as 12, I think that is pretty good.
