I have been in this site for some time and was wondering if my being 58 is just to old for the people in this site? Doesn't experience count for anyting? Or is my profile just not specific enough? I wonder as I attempt to make contact with subs and slave I don't receive many responses. What are your thoughts? Tom

Welcome to the Boards! Age really shouldnt matter. Especially as a Dominant Male where it seems much more accepted then age in a Submissive. Being new to the boards means you have spent your time mostly on the other side I assume. That other side is a scary place... eeeks! As for your profile ... it's somewhat dry, the words are very similar to many other profiles. To be honest... once you read them enough they all sound the same. My suggestion is to say a little about yourself, what makes you ... you and unique.

I have noticed an upswing of prejudice against older people in the scene in recent years, but it's hardly universal and on the whole, for many people, experience is an important factor. However, that said, in looking over your profile, I don't find much evidence of experience. You might want to write a bit about your background in the scene, the groups you have belonged to and the events you've attended. It also might be valuable to include your specific scene interests in the list.

While its true that a profile revision can go miles, age is also a concern. I know that for me, fifteen years my senior is about the max I'll go. Is that different from what a sub woman would say? Maybe, I don't know. I do know that my age preferences have some to do with attraction issues and some with the fact that I'm seeking a LTR. I want the person I meet to be in the same (or close to the same) life phase as me. Best Regards, Morghan

Maybe a little to do with age. Buth there I have meet a very nice woman from this site. Your profile says that you love to dance. Does that mean that you Tango? Liking Sciencefiction, favorite books or show? Like hiking are you going 2-3 miles or hiking the appalacian trail? Luv to write ? Poetry or novels and provide a link to something you have written. Like it was said "the devil is in the details" <soft smile>

Well, in my experience people don't just disappear when they hit 50-something. And, they don’t just quit living, either; or…having an interest in play or sex or relationships. I’m 58, too…and rather young at heart, I might add. I don’t know of a soul who thinks of me as old; but that number IS beginning to become an eye-sore, dammit. As far as men go: I think many are just coming into their prime at 50-ish. But, sadly, if a guy thinks he’s old at 58…he probably is. Try to remember that we are a percentage of the WHOLE population. Our ages run across the boards and the young people will eventually be the older ones; perhaps wondering if they’re too old to be here. I say it’s better than the alternative! <grinz>

Well of course AGEISM is rampant DUH! LOL but neither does it help to seem to be begging or desperate. AGEISM is just the total stupidity on the part of the "young” HEHE I’m older than you and have decades of XXXperience and I have one slave and am ISO of another slave now. I talk to many w/o any thought to age and I have many who won’t respond because they are silly enuf to think experience isn’t worth more than the “warping on the package’ LOL It’s their loss as any with half-a brain knows but then it’s the same in vanilla life too. Why worry, be happy! Your confidence of self is more huny to the lil baby bees than anything else. Besides, age is a great “screener” for those you would not want anyway! LOL Enjoy your wonder-filled day

No, 58 is not too old. Some of us prefer the older ones. Believe me there are more of us than you think. Master is 55, hes definately not too old . Welcome to collarme. [:D]

[;)]Howdy pard I got to tell ya age is in the mind. At 52, I am the Alpha in a long standing poly marrage. I have one wife that is 42 and one that is 37. I/We have lovers of all ages from early twentys up. I think if you spruce up the profile with a bit more info and let them see your confidence you will do well Luck to ya
