"Police prepare for Hell's Angels' 'festive' bash"

POSTED: 11:47 a.m. EDT, March 30, 2007

"OAKLAND, California (AP) -- Even with some of its members old enough to collect retirement pay, a party at Hells Angels headquarters is no celebration for the police.

As the Oakland chapter planned to mark the 50th anniversary of its founding this weekend, police put extra officers on duty Thursday, even as they downplayed the chance of trouble from a club with a long history of run-ins with the law."

Hmmm....ok, what is the point of this post?

Old, well hell yeah, the ones who survived are getting up there. My Master/old man of 18 years, who rides the wind, was one of those original members. Pick up a copy of Hunter Thompson's book Hells Angels, his name is on the front page. He would have been 77 years old this past March 25th.The father of my oldest two clones was killed in the line of duty to the club  before the second was born. Yet i always think of him as a gentle person.

Poppa (Sonny to the citizens), well he's a little rounder than he used to be, aren't we all? I still don't think there are too many folks who stand up and call him old to his face.

This festival will include families, kids, parents, grandparents. If my clones were still small would i take them? Of course. Took my youngest to her first event at three months of age. I took my youngest grandson to quite a few events where he was always treated with respect and caring.

Even though i am currently collared to a non club member i still think of these guys as family, always have, always will. I can still pick up the phone and say "i need" and know whatever it is i'll have it.

I guess your perspective on these guys depends on who you are. To me Poppa was always protective, kind, caring. My old man from all those years was a great dad, a considerate loving human being who spoiled our kids rotten, took care of his elderly parents, volunteered his time for the senior center, helped me operate a feral cat/wild animal rescue and mowed the yard like the rest of the world.

Are they capable of murder and mayhem, yes they are. But it has been my experience that you have to provoke them first. They do not sit around going "where can we start shit today?"

Face it, the HA is still a source for a great deal of sensationalism for the news. If you show them respect, they'll show you respect, plain and simple. Pretty much the same way bikers all over the world are to this day.

True enough Twice. I've only incidental experience on the periphery of the HA (and the other lot, Outlaws I think), and I'd characterise them as being "good blokes" all round. Rough as hell, tough as old boots, but polite, respectful and helpful too in a combination that those with no experience of them maybe would find odd - and I guess it is an odd combination in our society really.

I was going to make the same comparison Twice (the knights bit), but I reconsidered as it makes them sound a bit too glamorous you know!? They do some pretty awful things to one another between gangs when there's any trouble, but as you said, it seems to be pretty much confined to themselves as a whole. Its almost comic, the way they deal with one another and then deal with me straight after as someone who is a friend of a friend of a member you know?

Think about it this way; The Crusades, those knights did a huge amounts of murder, raping, pillaging, all under the guise of a holy war under the sanctions of crown and church.

Their warfare was horrendous but their courtly manners and sense of justice said to be divine.

Yes - though my reconsideration was based on the popular view of knights - the romantic version thats far from the truth

I think what scares alot of people away from the Angels or any other group, one of them used to be called the mafia by those who don't know, is that they are FOR REAL.

If you cross people who are FOR REAL you might wind up with a serious ass kicking or even in a box FOR REAL. However if you are cool and make friends, you make friends FOR REAL.

That is scary to the happy meal crowd. The soccer moms, the sheeple And the thing is, now the Angels has doctors, lawyers etc., with the cost of Harleys today some of them just had to get a job LOL. Now a H.A. normally shouldn't take offense at that, and very few are the headknockers they're made out to be.

It is in a way like what they used to call the mafia, and look at the definition, the negative connotation is false. One day I kept my mouth shut. The benefits were forthcoming. I wasn't threatened nor even "advised" to keep my mouth shut, I already knew better. I can say this much, this situation did not involve anyone getting hurt, it was about traffic tickets.

I would rather deal with biker groups, or even the people they used to call the mafia than the government on any level.

If you deal fair and square with these "criminal" groups, and treat them with basic respect, they will reciprocate. The government will fuck you as much as they can no matter how nice you are to them.

I am not so sure about the Crips and the Bloods, but I suspect that if left alone, most of them would rather just have a good time. The thing is you only hear about them when bad shit happens.

And when bad shit happens to people who are FOR REAL, they do something about it FOR REAL. That scares alot of people.

It scares me, not that I am going to do something to incur their wrath, what it is if I ever ask for a favor, one day I might have to return the favor. Then I might have to do something FOR REAL.

I could go on about the sheeple being brainwashed to think all these groups are purely evil in nature, but many of us know it is not true. Just like the Breed, the Creed whoever, people cast a negative eye on any group except the boy scouts and a few others. Actually bikers and their ilk are about freedom, and this is the American way.

Here's something for you to spit your cornflakes on the keyboard to, if the Hell's Angels endorsed a political candidate, I would seriously consider voting for that person. Yes.

When local newspapers endorse candidates I can't allow my self to laugh, because then I may have to cry. People lend creedence to this shit, the opinion of a company who is out to make money ? Gimme a break.

I could see a politician running now "endorsed by the Hell's Angels", now that might just get me to vote.

Yes, I love these kind of folk. Got 40 people coming to the party, looks like a nine keger. Shit, we gotta get ready, boys, go dig the pit out again, Maw, take the girls and go get a pig and 30 bags of charcoal, and take the pickup truck, my Chevy trunk still stinks from last time.

Yup, some people are FOR REAL.

I think that it is rather amusing that an HA event in the US did make the main evening news in Germany.
However, the covering focused on how peacefull an event it was, and the point that many members are getting old. They even had some short interviews with some of them, joking about their age. Then the anouncer made some jokes about the amount of police that was showing presence.

Hi babe, still thinking about coming for the Boogie (we hope so)?  If you are remember you need your current up to date ABATE card with you to get it and don't forget your beads for the titties.  Mistoferin is super jazzed she is definitely coming. I need to drop a line to Badpliden  and Kat to see if they are going or not too.

1% stuff, lmao.....sorry, thought i had mentioned it.

As far as the HA is concerned, well, long live Sonny, long may the Red and White fly.

Not sure what I'm gonna do this year? Loooziana trip may be out? Not sure if I want to go that far for heat/humidity???? It's my slow time of year now and gotta pay the feds 4gs over what I've already paid quarterly (taxes) in a week and the "knuckle" bill will be an extra g. Just started some dental work and when that's done the sight problem has to be addressed. Anyways....lotta dough going out so I may have to keep this years ride "short"....??? Plus I loose alot of dough by taking time off...blah..blah. We'll see what happens?

IF (big if)..I were to support any group it would be your local 81....

PS...I'd like to read Sonnys book but it keeps slipping my mind to pick it up.....have you read it?

PSS....my hanky spanky partner went *poof*.....???? lol.........

Excuses excuses, you just don't want to get that new knucklehead dusty.......

Lol, i never read Poppa's books, but they are probably pretty good as well as accurate. Guess i just do not see him as a superhero, just a great man.

Kinda figured that about the play partner, keep looking. she's out there. Big grins.....

My old place out in the country was right next door to a restaraunt/bar with a big fenced park area and a stage.  The night somebody leaving decided to dump a clip in the direction of my house was the night we decided to move.  Of all the events that went on, I never felt more comfortable than when the Vagos rented the place for their annual social.  The cops were all over them too.

Of course, a very dear old friend who bleeds red and white insists the only reason the Vagos could get together like that was because the Angels were all in Vegas that weekend.

Well put.

Peyton Quinn pointed out that a person who goes out and starts fights eventually meets somebody who puts them in the hospital or the morgue.  Most people in the groups you are talking about know this, and tend to avoid getting into fights with others like them.

With a few exceptions, crime tends to not cross racial barriers.

boy scouts

I used to work at boy scout camps and was very active.

Then those retards announced that a gay man could not be a scout master.  The profound gall that a gay man should be considered a pedophile was simply awe-inspiring in it's ignorance and bigotry.

Wont have anything to do with those jackasses any more.

Well the HA have sod all on the New Zealand gang the 'Mongrel Mob', i do think the name tends to incite the god fearing people into a over the top reaction. Perhaps they could rename as the O.R.F.O.B. (old round fellas on bikes)?
