The April issue of Simply Service has been released. The articles are:

Mental Orgasm: The Phenomenon of Brain Sex (pt 1 of 3)

Presumption in Service

The Art of the Interview: Adding Members to a Household

The Write Stuff: Written Communication in Service

Hooked on Being Needed

Simply Service is a once-a-month newsletter/e-zine written for service oriented people, by service oriented people in M/s, D/s or Leather relationships. Contributors are all slave or submissive identified, and in real time relationships where obedience and service are necessary, valued skills, achieved over time.

You can join the distribution list and look at back issues at:

I will check it out, but why do they have to be in relationships?

I guess I just don't like that heirarchy thing where single slaves or subs are somehow not worth listening to or have valuable things to contribute.

Personally, I do not see anything negative in the posting.
I don't think they 'have' to be - it could just be that the contributors are in relationships.
Nothing wrong in that. Nothing elitist. Just facts.

Maybe it will take a single slave/sub to write an article and submit it, so that way, they don't have to mention different.
But that is up to a single, service orientated sub/slave to step up to.

Peace and Love

I think the idea is to make sure the contributors know what they are talking about - that what they write is grounded in their own experience.

Actually, I think one of the authors in a prior issue was currently unattached. But she had been in a committed long term D/s relationship.

Doesn't say they have to be in service.

"by service oriented people in M/s, D/s or Leather relationships. Contributors are all slave or submissive identified, and in real time relationships where obedience and service are necessary, valued skills, achieved over time. "

The people who write it have experience in real life.

What is offensive about that?

Doesn't say you can't read it unless you have a Master, or that contributors not able to prove they are in a BDSM relationship IRL will be ignored or laughed at.

If that's what you thought, you didn't get it from what the posting actually said.

It says that ALL contributions are written by slave or submissive identified AND in real time relationships.

I didn't say it was offensive, just that it would be good maybe to include those not in relationships at this time, and questioning why this aspect is so important that they presently be in relationships.

I've been looking at the issues. They're good. Most are written by people with massive experience in the BDSM community. I guess that such people have reached a where they are unlikely to not be in service in some way.

I am sure articles of equivalent quality by people not in service would be welcomed.

Thanks Chris for the info and link...
Some days it seems the idea of service-oriented sub is a nice illusion not based on facts/real time relationships, so glad to see this. M

Thanks for the link and the tip on the group, chris! I haven't had a chance to do much reading there yet, but I joined the group and I'm sure I'll spend some time there.

I am not exclusively a service-oriented submissive, but service is a big part of my submission. I enjoy reading viewpoints and perspectives of those who are also interested in this aspect.

Thanks again,
harmony
