UtopianRanger -> Recieving mail at this site (4/15/2005 10:44:13 PM)

Hello : I'm wondering if any of the posting members can answer a question for me :

I know that various colors in the mail box differentiate what type of user he or she is , however , what does it mean when a particular user who has sent you mail in the past turns to ''Black'' ?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hey Greystorm. Many thanks for your quick reply. A Lady sends me a nice note and I don't get back to her right away because of work, so wal-LA, she deletes her whole profile for me never to hear from fer again. What gives? LOL

Might as well get used to that, it happens a lot here.

Yup. It's happened to me twice, so far. Under roughly similar circumstances: MUCH talk about how they wanted to meet, followed by the quick, no-farewell-note disappearance finalized by their names going black.

Now, in fairness, I've been involved in talks with people during which I discovered that the more I learned about them, the less I wanted to meet them. And I've usually gotten good and flamed for it, too, once I finally felt I had to break the news, however gently I tried to do it. They've tended to complain of being lead ON, when the truth is that I had known with grim certainty that I was going to have to let them DOWN and had tried to avoid it.

But that's as far as my attempt at understanding the phenomenon carries me and it seems that >something< else must be going on, for a person to give up their registration entirely (always remembering that they can re-up under another persona any time they want).
