Elorin -> Grief (4/4/2007 3:43:23 PM)

With great sadness I learned that a man I respected greatly passed away this morning. He was a phenomenal figure in the BDSM scene from the moment I entered the RT communities, and his his charisma, smile, and style will be greatly missed.

How do you honor someone who is both contemporary and your elder, someone you wished to learn from but never got the chance, someone who was never close enough to be called dear, but you always longed to be closer to?

I never tasted his whip, his leathers, his boots. I never desired to have him taste any of mine. I smiled at compliments from him and now wish I'd complimented him more. I have items in my toybox which are now more valuable to me for the help he gave me in making them, knowing he will not help me make another.

Sir, Allan, you struggled and I never saw your struggle, but I know it was a brave one. I regret that you had to pass from us at this time, and I pray your passing was peaceful. If I may choose my guardian angels, I would choose You as one.

I'm sorry for your loss...but you can honor him, by not forgetting him or what he taught you. You can honor him by paying him tribute each time you use anything that you learned from him.

Again, my condolences to you and your community.

First, i'm truly sorry for your loss and to the many others of your community.

While i don't know much about it, i think the best way of honoring his memory is to live life as if he were watching and you want to make him proud -- from either side of the coin.  If there's a special place (club) where people can donate an item that will be used by others, make it in his honor..those who are present now will know why and those who come later can ask and still learn from his wisdom and skill.

i know it probably doesn't feel like it right now, but it sounds like just knowing him was a blessing most, obviously not all will have.  Do  you best to remember him and his teachings...and i wouldn't be surprised if he knows..and smiles.

Honor him as you honor anyone who is of meaning in your life. Smile when you see him laugh, even if in only in your mind. Listen to the things he teaches, if only by reviewing his actions. And, most of all, be grateful that he was in your life.

my condolences.  i think the greatest way to honor Him is to live as He believed as long as you share those and make sure everyone else is aware of His accomplishments.

greetings Elorin,

you acknowledge the person within your local community, and you celebrate the wisdoms that he passed on to you.  He obviously left an impact or an impression upon you.

if you are sensitive to energy, just  acknowledge it, and let it go.  Remember the sharing, remember the positive input he had on your life, and let go of the bits that are troublesome to you.  You cannot change history, or the past, but you can acknowledge and remember.

I am very sorry to read of your loss, and know that you will hold on tight to the friendship that you formed.

I appreciate all of the sentiments expressed here. I regret not knowing the man I admired better. The world certainly has lost an amazing personality.
