I like the line
"But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself"
From Garden Party by Ricky Nelson.

I have many other songs that seem to describe my life right now, but many of them are very angry and have inappropriate language, so I will save them for another time.

"Make him an offer he can't refuse" The Godfather

I also like a line my dad used a lot when he was in a hurry:
"Throw a fish to the lead dog and mush"

A Google search of that phrase suggests that Albert Camus wrote it. But I am not sure in which book or play.

I have so many favorite one-liners. Here is my favorite one for the moment:

"At some point you pardon the people in your family for being stuck together in all their weirdness, and when you can do that, you can learn to pardon everyone." -- Anne Lamott ,Travelling Mercies

Thank you sooooo much. I love that quote, but I did not know who penned it. It is a BDSM quote.

I can't say these are my favorites, but they they're the first to pop to mind right now.

Movie Quote: "I always said, if I had to fuck a guy... I mean had to, if my life depended on it... I'd fuck Elvis." . . . character Clarence Worley in the movie True Romance

Song Lyrics:
"If this is paradise
I wish I had a lawnmower"
Nothing But Flowers by Talking Heads

Book Quote: "We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold" the opening line in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson

Lately I've been thinking of this one:

"In that Big Book of Names, I want to go down in flames...seein's how I'm going down"

It's from A Good Day In Hell, by the Eagles. Not that it's necessarily applicable to my life; I just like it.

Then there's:

"Nowhere is there warmth to be found...among those afraid of losing their ground."

From 8 Miles High, by the Byrds--one of the most incredibel songs ever!

And, of course:

"Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to."

From Oh Well by Fleetwood Mac back when they were a kickass rowdy rock band.

I'm not even sure these are my favorites, but they're often rattling around in my head.

Bob
