CaptivatingRenee -> Hello SubTG new here (4/16/2005 8:06:27 AM)

I am glad that someone pointed out that my post here was similar to a personal ad. Thanks for the input.

oh, oh.... this is dangerously close to being a personals ad. It might get pulled!

Please feel free to join the conversations in the message boards. They are a fun way to make friends. If you are eager to get 'down to business' of finding a partner you will have to do that over in the personals side of this website.

Welcome to Collarme! [:)]

Hi and welcome to the forums at CM!

You will have better luck looking on the other side of the CM house (personals). Here on the forums we love to discuss all aspects of life and the lifestyle!

Thanks for pointing this out. You are definitely right. Sorry about that. I am new to this, dah, I guess you could tell already. I know this will be a stupid question but, I have to ask it any way. What's the difference between message boards and forums? I keep seeing these online. I guess that it doesn't really matter now due to my going offline next month any way. Take care everyone.

I think they are the same thing but that 'message board' is more old school.

Warning! Its time for an old fogey history lesson. [:D] Back in the day before the World Wide Web and the Internet became so immensely popular there were independent operations callled Bulletin Board Services (BBS). A person would set up a home computer to act as a server and individuals could dial up that server to download files or post messages on (yes) message boards for everyone to read and comment on. I am not sure where the term forums originated but I think it might have been on some of the national pay to use BBS (which charged by the minute, as well as the cost of your long distance call)

<shivers> But that was back in the bad old days.

Say, I am sorry that we are going to lose you in a months time. Do you mind explaining why? We hate to lose someone who just arrived!
