Desert Island Discs is a long running BBC radio 4 show where they invite celebs on and ask them what ten pieces of music they'd want to have on a desert island. They also get to choose a book.

So, what would you choose?

I'm not sure what music I'd choose (probably classical pieces), but the book I'd want is "How to Get Off a Desert Island For Dummies".

i can't narrow it down to songs so i'll just say i would take one disc by each of the following artists:

Ray Wylie Hubbard, Hank Williams III, John Prine, Robert Earl Keen, Jr., Townes Van Zandt, Gillian Welch, Southern Culture on the Skids, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, and Bob Dylan.  (Billy Joe Shaver, Kasey Chambers, and Yonder Mountain String Band were all close runners-up....lol).

As for the book, i suppose i'd have to choose "Gentleman Junkie" by Harlan Ellison.  It's a truly superb collection of short stories i have enjoyed over and over again.........slave luci

Carmina Burana-the 1960 recording conducted by Eugene Ormandy
Jazz-Queen
Revolver-The Beatles
Exile on Main Street-The Rolling Stones
The Stooges-The Stooges
Bulk Music I-a disc I burned of my all-time favorites (is that cheating?)
Bulk Music II-ditto
Debussy's Complete Works for Orchestra-Orch of Radio Luxembourg/Louis de Froment
Giant Steps-John Coltrane

Book: A really big one, so I can hollow it out and hide my cats inside.

Bob
