Ideas for a lockbox for chastity key?

Status: offline 		what does one do when the keyholder and the wearer do not live together, or are not within very close driving distance?

for emergency reasons, I want him to have a key, but obviously with some sort of combination lock on it so that he can only get it from me at the time he needs it...no way to get to it if the frustration of morning wood gets to him.

without delving into something horribly expensive, what ways can this be done?

Status: offline 		Doesn't having to reach you negate the emergency part? If he's been in a car crash, he won't be able to reach you. You could put it in an envelope with your signature across the glued part, no way for him to open it without you seeing the evidence and the envelope with a note on the front identifying the contents would live in his wallet where the ER would be likely to find it.

Status: offline 		a small tool box would be cheap, and should be lockable. i'd suggest writing the combination down, and putting it in a signed, sealed envelope.. in case your slave may have some emergency and can't contact You. It is still secure, as You can examine the envelope for any tampering

Status: offline 		You could do the envelope thing - sign the back across the seal.

Alternatively, CB2000's have available plastic ties with an ID number on them - you can only open it by breaking the plastic tie.  However, the ID numbers are unique so while he could replace the plastic tie, it would be a different ID number.   This is probably safer than leaving him with a lock on - the example brought up was being in a car wreck.

Wrap the emergency key in a dated newspaper and then cover the newspaper with several layers of tape. If your submissive needed the key for emergency purposes they can get at it but would then have to explain themselves. There will be no way to re-wrap the key and conceal your use of it without damaging the dated paper.

If the paper is covered in several layers of tape and wrapped up how do you identify the date of the paper?  If it was visible, a clever person could cut it open remove the key, use than retape.  I imagine the perpetual forensic analysis of the paper to determine if it was opened would get tiresome.

Status: offline 		Here is a $6 solution.... You put the key in this box and the only way to get it out is to the destroy the box. So if he did use the key, you will know about it sooner or later...

Status: offline 		For emergency reasons the key might be needed quicker than it would take to get it from one of those devises. Imagine what might happen in a car accident.

I keep a key to my collar lock on my keychain.

Trust keeps me from unlocking it unless necessary.

You need two of these cafepress ornaments. Any design, of course.

Now, make a spacer of some convenient material that's a little bit thicker than the key.Wrap the key in tissue so it won't rattle, and apply glue carefully. You now have an attractive key-fob, or will once you put a ring through it. The key can only be accessed by smashing the fob, and there's no way that the design can be replicated - if you know what you are doing. (for instance, a photo with an encoded message that's detectable by photoshop.)

For the spacer, I'd want something like a thick rubber that will take superglue very well. You would not want the spacer to be very wide = it has to be possible to break the porcelan and it's fairly rugged.

I would say that there's no substitute for trust, but for some people, the physical impossiblity of accessing the key undetectably is an important factor in the kink, and many would risk having no access if their keyholders were of a mind. So this seems like a prudent middle ground.

Status: offline 		Get a signet ring and seal the envelope with wax and your seal.  Glue it into a wood box.

I am thinking of making a wooden copy of the Da Vinci code box, someone has a cool plan out and I think it would be hot.
