There's a lot of TLAs (Three Lettered Acronyms) floating around. For a newbie like me i'm getting lost.
What are IMO, SSC, RACK and any others that come up.
is there a section explaining them? it's not alway obvious what it is even within the context of an email.
can anyone lighten my burden in the terminology?
thanks

Pulls out my big book of acronyms... okay actually its not that big

SSC - Safe, Sane & Consensual = popular mantra in the lifestyle, represents philosophy of safe play.
RACK - Risk Aware Consensual Kink = newer philosopy, espouses being aware of the risks involved in what we do and taking responsibility for it. More of a "do as though wilt" philosopy.
PE - Power Exchange = basic dynamic in D/s and M/s relationships, exchange of control and power
TPE - Total Power Exchange = extreme form of PE sought by some where the submissive gives up total control over themselves and their life. Sometimes considered the defining difference between subs and slaves (also sometimes hotly debated).
D/s - Domination / submission = refers either to the relationship side of BDSM in this lifestyle, or to Dom / sub relationships specifically.
M/s - Master / slave = refers to the Master / slave version of the D/s relationship.
DD/bg - DaddyDom / babygirl = A variety on D/s that includes the role of the dominant as "daddy" and the submissive as his "girl"... not necessarily age play, sometimes considered a "kinder, gentler" form of D/s. Also sometimes hotly debated.
WIIWD - What It Is We Do = short cut for those talking about the things we do in this lifestyle.

when i first came across bdsm & the net i was usually very confused with all the acronyms, one time this dom mentor i had types "GMTA", and i had just about had it with all the acronyms, he would over use them to the point where i was lost most of the time in our chats...i typed in reply, "WITWDTM", he took a while then finally said " i have no idea what that's suppose to mean" .... i said "W/hat I/n T/he W/orld D/oes T/hat M/ean", frustrating isn't it? now you know how i feel! lol .... luckily he thought it was funny but it didn't stop him from using the acronyms lol.

The one I use most often is RTFP for Read the friggin Profile. It is taken from the computer acronym RTFM (read the friggin manual)
